Look out for our next Artist in Residence, Matthew Eyles, as he begins work on his forthcoming exhibition Thresholds – Light, Memory and Place at East Riddlesden Hall.

Working in acrylic ink and watercolour, Matthew will explore how light, landscape and historic architecture interact within the Hall and its surroundings. His paintings will respond to the building’s character while reflecting the wider landscape and the National Trust’s ongoing work to care for places of historic and natural significance.

📅You can see Matthew working on site on 27 May, 27 June and 22 July.
⏰10.30am–3.30pm.
📍 The finished exhibition will be on display in the Entrance Chamber (first floor) from Saturday 24 October 2026 to Wednesday 14 April 2027.

📸 Photos are some of Matthew's preliminary sketches. We can't wait to see his finished works!
