Keele VegSoc

Keele VegSoc This is the Vegetarian and Vegan Society of Keele University.

This society’s aims are:
- Promote a more plant-based diet and lifestyle for all students and staff on campus.
- Inform students and staff how a balanced vegetarian/vegan diet and lifestyle is healthy, tasty, good for the environment and reduces animal exploitation and suffering. This society’s objectives are:
- Lobby cafes, restaurants and shops on campus into increasing their range of vegan offe

rs/choices.
- Set up a regular information stall on campus which informs about the advantages of a vegan diet.
- Organise cooking events where students cook for other students or staff in exchange for a donation. This is to promote the character of communal meals and the taste of vegan meals.
- Tackle food waste by talking to cafes, restaurants, shops and farmers on and off campus and then use their edible food waste for so-called “waste cooking” events. This is to promote tasty vegan meals and to demonstrate a sustainable way of using edible food waste.
- Give students the possibility to attend demonstrations and protest concerning issues related to animal rights.
