Young Devon is a young people's charity in the South West of England. We have been supporting young people since 1949; making Devon a better place for all young people, by reducing disadvantage and improving opportunity. Young Devon helps young people get support with their mental health and wellbeing, build life skills, get their voice heard, grow in confidence, find safe accommodation and develo

Young people can access Young Devon services in Exeter, Plymouth, Newton Abbot, Barnstaple, Ivybridge, Tavistock, Okehampton and Ilfracombe as well as via outreach workers in the more rurally isolated communities. We spoke to the BBC Spotlight team about the impact of losing funding for our Skills Courses, which have supported more than 1,000 young people over the past decade.

For young people who have struggled in traditional education, these courses have provided vital one-to-one support, built confidence and helped them take their next steps into education, employment and training.

We know the need is greater than ever, and we’re incredibly proud of the young people who have shared their experiences and shown just how much this support can mean.

At Young Devon, young people shape everything we do. The services we provide, the spaces we create, and the way we work. Their voices are at the heart of it all.

We believe young people should have a say in the things that affect their lives, and that when young people are listened to, valued and given the opportunity to lead, amazing things can happen.

We've been incredibly lucky to receive a generous donation of 16 refurbished PCs from Cutec, our trusted IT partner and long standing sponsor of RunDevon!

These computers will be used across our Young Devon sites, giving our youth workers the tools they need to support young people, while also providing young people with access to computers for learning, job searching, and education.

A huge thank you to everyone at Cutec for taking the time to refurbish these PCs and for your continued support of Young Devon and RunDevon. Your generosity will make a real difference to the young people we work with! 💙💻

Last week we had a fantastic day at our Cycle Hub Event in Newton Abbot!

Thank you so much to everyone who came along. A huge thank you to Cycle Torbay CIC for providing free essential bike maintenance and repairs for young people, helping keep them safe and ready to ride.

We're also incredibly grateful to the Rotary Newton Abbot and Newton Abbot Town Council for supporting the event and allowing us to use Golden Lion Square, and to Rector Dave and Market Gate Chippy for your support on the day!

A big thank you to our amazing YES Centre Youth Work Team for making the day such a success, and to all the young people, families and local community members who came along and got involved.

Thank you to everyone who played a part. We love seeing our community come together, and we can't wait to do it again! 💙
