Young Devon

Young Devon Changing the odds in favour of young people. A young people's charity in the South West of England. Every week, we help hundreds of local young people in need.

Young Devon is a young people's charity in the South West of England. We have been supporting young people since 1949; making Devon a better place for all young people, by reducing disadvantage and improving opportunity. Young Devon helps young people get support with their mental health and wellbeing, build life skills, get their voice heard, grow in confidence, find safe accommodation and develo

p into happy, independent adults. Young people can access Young Devon services in Exeter, Plymouth, Newton Abbot, Barnstaple, Ivybridge, Tavistock, Okehampton and Ilfracombe as well as via outreach workers in the more rurally isolated communities. Young Devon; putting young people at the heart of Devon.

Hear directly from young people about their experiences of Young Devon's services for over 18s in Barnstaple. 💙

In this video, young people aged 18–25 share what being involved with the YES Centre has meant to them, highlighting the support, opportunities and connections they've found along the way.

This video was created and led by the young people themselves, who wanted to share what the groups mean to them and encourage others to get involved.

Thank you so much for sharing your voice!

Abuse is never okay.

Every young person deserves to feel safe, respected, and heard, whether they're at home, online, in their community, or at a sporting event.

That's why we're proud to support and stand alongside organisations working to tackle abuse in all its forms.

Together, we can help create safer spaces where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

You are not alone.

Whatever you’re facing right now, you don’t have to carry it by yourself. Talking to someone you trust (such as a friend, a family member, a teacher or a support worker) can make a difference.

Sometimes the hardest step is starting the conversation, but reaching out is a sign of strength, not weakness.

If you need extra support, here are a few services available to help:
Kooth UK: Free, safe and anonymous support.
The Devon Moorings: Offering mental health support to anyone aged 18+ in Barnstaple, Exeter & Torquay
Samaritans: Free 24/7 hotline available at 116 123
