This isn’t just a message… this is my story
The little boy in this picture is me.
And like so many children in care, my anger wasn’t the problem—
it was the pain behind it.

It’s not the child’s fault.

Behind anger, there is often trauma.
Behind behaviour, there is often hurt that no one can see.
And behind it all… is a child who just needs to feel safe, understood, and cared for.

Growing up, I needed people to look past my behaviour and see what I’d been through.
I needed patience, not punishment.
Understanding, not judgement.

That’s why this matters so much to me today.

In care and adoption, we must look deeper.
We must listen instead of judge.
We must respond with care, not blame.

Because when we put the child first, everything changes.

Every child deserves: ❤️ Care
❤️ Patience
❤️ Understanding
❤️ To be heard

Let’s stop asking “what’s wrong with this child?”
…and start asking “what happened to this child?”

Let’s put children first. Always.

I’ve gone back to where it all started…

That little boy in the picture didn’t know what was ahead. Growing up in the care system, feeling lost, unheard, and trying to make sense of things that didn’t make sense.

Years later, sitting alone reading my care records…
That was one of the hardest moments of my life.
It brought up things I wasn’t ready for.
No support. No guidance. Just me and pages that changed how I saw everything.

That moment broke me… but it also built me.

Because I realised something — no one should have to go through that alone.

That’s why I created One Set of Footprints CIC
That’s why I started my podcast
That’s why I’m doing everything I can to give people a voice and real support

This isn’t just a “project” or a “business”
This is personal.

If you’ve ever felt alone in your journey, especially with care experience…
I see you. I hear you. And you’re not alone.

We’re building something real here.
One conversation, one story, one person at a time.
