The Clay Factory

The Clay Factory The Clay Factory is a community hub that will offer flexible spaces to local businesses and charities alongside creative studios and event space.

Set just outside the historic market town of Ivybridge and nestled on the edge of Dartmoor, The Clay Factory is an innovative project to turn a former industrial site into a community hub for businesses, organisations, arts, food & events. Containing endless corridors of exciting and flexible spaces overlooking impressive views of the beautiful Devon countryside; we believe we offer the best of bo

We are a social enterprise RedPod Enterprises working in conjunction with the sexual health charity The Eddystone Trust. Our purpose is to create a vibrant community space for this part of South Devon and for our profits to make a social impact by helping fund the good work of The Eddystone Trust. It’s our view that profit doesn’t have to be a dirty word – not when it can be used to directly help those in communities across the South West.

A note to our community

We want to clarify that we no longer run The Clay Factory community space.

Since moving out, the name and our logo have continued to be used, but this is not connected to us.

We’re proud of what we built at The Clay Factory, but any current activities under that name are outside our organisation.

It all started with a vision—to take an underused but much-loved former clay factory and transform it into a vibrant hub for arts, enterprise, and food. For a time, we turned that vision into reality and welcomed thousands of local community members through our doors.

However, as time has passed our costs have continued to rise, and because of this we’ve had to make the incredibly difficult decision to step away from the building and end our involvement in running The Clay Factory. As of today, we say goodbye to The Clay Factory. The Eddystone Trust and RedPod Enterprises will no longer have any association with The Clay Factory, and as a result RedPod Arts and RedPod Food will no longer continue to exist.

All that’s left to say is a heartfelt thank you—whether you rented space with us, ate in our café, attended one of our many events, watched a film with us, exhibited artwork, or simply spent time in the building. We've created countless special memories here, and we’ll carry them with us for a long time.

Thank you for clocking into The Clay Factory. For us, it’s time to clock out—one last time.

Farewell, and thank you for being part of our journey.

"Art & Mind" is an interactive community art exhibition exploring the topic of mental health, launching at The Clay Factory on Thursday 9th November 6 - 8pm, also open Friday 10th and Saturday 11th November from 11am - 2pm.

Over a period of several weeks a group of 10 people worked together to explore the topic of mental health through art, making work primarily out of cardboard and other recycled materials. Some of the participants had little to no art experience. Together they worked to produce this exhibition which includes interactive stations where visiting members of the public may choose to contribute to the exhibition should they wish. Also on display will be collaborative output from over 1 year of The Art Club and also monthly 'Walk, Meditate, Create' day retreats.

The open evening will include talks from guest speakers at 6.30pm on the topic of creativity and mental health.

This promises to be an exciting and unique exhibition, suitable for all ages, encouraging dialogue on mental health and the role creativity can play. Entrance is free and you may come along any day. However, to join us on the open evening please email [email protected] to reserve your place or send a message to Artmoor Haven here via FB.
