A little bit about me:
My full time job is Caring. Originally I was caring in the Community, which I did for 3 1/2 years. I’m now doing private Care/Companion living in 3 days a week. Being able to have a part in enabling people to stay in their own homes as long as possible no matter what their health condition, is a huge privilege. To be able to make a positive difference is very rewarding. A

t the start of the pandemic, when I was in the community, the tasks we faced were multiplied. No-one was able to visit our clients except for us so we had to become cleaners, gardeners, hairdressers, family and friends all rolled into one. We had to try to keep them upbeat and be a cheerful face (even though hidden by masks and shields now which was very frightening for some). At that time, for many of us, our hours more than doubled. I needed to find something to help me to relax when I wasn’t working or doing things with my family. That’s when I found my passion for crafting. I started making greetings cards and it just grew from there. Over the last 3 years, I have been selling my cards at a local bookshop and at craft fairs for Dementia Care charity and to date I have raised over £500. I am continuing to do this for the foreseeable future, as I have just lost my father who suffered from Dementia. This is an awful disease and not only affects the sufferers but also their friends and family. It robs you of the person you know which is heartbreaking. The more research that can be done, the sooner there could be help and even a cure for sufferers. Sometime in the future, I would like to share my passion by holding craft classes but for now, I will continue to enjoy what I do.

I've just been playing around with the new 2026-28 'in colours' from Stampin'Up! & trying different combinations with inks I already have. Here are my favorites so far:

Golden glow/Daffodil delight
Hydrangea hue/secret sea
Crisp cantaloupe/Barely Blush

I also love the Timid Tiger/ peach pie & Petunia Pop/Pretty in Pink combinations

Strawberry Slush and Pretty in Pink goes well too which is what I used in the card I posted earlier.
