Hello Everyone!

We are really looking forward to welcoming you all to Filham park for our event this Sunday, however we have a few spaces on our volunteer roster which need filling for our event to go ahead safely!

We currently require-
🦺Marshal x4
🧑‍🧒Tailwalking team (1x adult, 1x junior)
🏁Funnel manager x2
☑️finish tokens
📱barcode scanner
🏃warm up leader

Even if you’ve never done it before, we can provide all information before the event, and it’s an amazing way to get that feel good feeling on a Sunday morning!

☀️ A fantastic sunny morning down at Filham Park this morning and a great junior parkrun, number 14! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🎉

👏 89 of our amazing juniors took part today! We had a massive 18 first timers 🤩 — welcome to the parkrun family! 🥳💚

🙌 We all need to say a massive THANK YOU to our amazing volunteers who help the event go ahead safely every week. 💚

🌟 Particularly this week to Val, who completed 100 volunteer roles 💯🙌 and Stella, who completed an incredible 250 volunteer roles this week! 🤯🎉 Including 100 warm-up leads 🏃‍♀️💪 and 100 barcode scans 📱👏

Incredible achievements both of you! 🥳🏆

👏 Well done to Katie, Callie and Phoebe, who were first-time volunteers today! 🌟💚

🎉 Talking of great achievements, well done to Lewis, Albie, Ruby and Alicia, who received their 10 junior parkrun wristbands! 🥳🏅

💪 10 more of our juniors completed their 10th event today and will receive their wristbands next week! 🎖️👏

🏆 15 of our juniors achieved personal bests this week — well done! 🎉🙌

🌈 We’ll see you all next week — same time, same place! ⏰📍

It’s a beautiful morning down here at Filham Park for a junior parkrun!

There’s something for everyone, a fantastic 2km parkrun course for the juniors, tea and coffee for the “old people” and fantastic cakes!

There is cricket on today so remember extra parking is available at the vets.

See you down there! 8:50 briefing for a 9am start!

Can anyone help out our fellow junior parkrun friends?

You know we are starting to panic about filling the roster when the Puss in Boots picture gets posted!

Roughly 36 hours until our wonderful event on Sunday morning, but we need to fill the following roles, to be able to go ahead

Can you help with any of the following:

6 x Marshals
Tailwalking Team ( adult and junior)
Funnel manager

If you have never volunteered with us before, not an issue, we will explain the role in the morning. You just need to be registered with parkrun and have your own A number ( it’s free)

We thought it was going to be cooler but event #13 was almost as warm as last week!! 🌡️

And equally brilliant, thanks to 74 amazing juniors 🌟

11 of whom were doing their first EVER junior parkrun, with a further 7 visiting Filham Park for the first time 🙌

For the second week running we had visitors from Ireland, as well as visitors from Nottingham and London - we hope you enjoy the rest of your holidays 🏝️

14 juniors ran PBs, including Ruby, our first female finisher 👏

And a special shout out for two of our visitors, Noah and Imelda, who were completing their 299th and 198th junior parkruns respectively - BIG milestones incoming 🥳

As ever, a HUGE thank you to our 26 wonderful volunteers who make it all happen💚

This time tomorrow we'll be all set for Event #13 and it’s looking like another beautiful morning for it! ☀️🌳

We’d love to see plenty of familiar faces — as well as anyone coming along for the first time, perhaps visiting while on holiday. 🏝️

The pre-run briefing is at 8.55am and that’s part of the beauty of junior parkrun: 2km done, fresh air enjoyed, and you’ve still got most of your Sunday ahead of you! 🙌

Run, jog, walk or a bit of everything — it’s entirely up to you. Just come along and enjoy the morning. 😊

And finally, we do still need one or two extra marshals so if you’re coming along and can spare a little time to help out, we’d really appreciate it. 🙏
