12 Noon – 4:30 PM

Join us for an afternoon of celebration featuring:

- Open speeches from Charles Challenger (SWSC), Ipswich Mayor, and poet Abe Gibson

- Live performances by Cherise Phillips, Nero Diamante, and Sound of Steel (Steelband)

- Exhibition, market, and food stalls offering a variety of experiences

Come together with the community to honor and celebrate this important day.

Re; Celebrating National Windrush on Monday 22 nd , June 2026.
We are a voluntary organization known as the Suffolk Windrush Select Committee (SWSC) and we have been established since 28th February 2018.

Our main is to promote positive community relations across Suffolk and celebrate the significant contributions of the African Caribbean community to enhance the society.

Our mission is to champion cultural diversity and social integration in Suffolk recognising the benefits this brings to communities, schools, businesses and the wider economy.

In 2025, we delivered a very successful Windrush celebration at Ipswich Cornhill in partnership with Ipswich Borough Council, with additional support from the Suffolk County Council and local businesses. The event attracted over 1,000 attendees and received very positive feedback.

To deliver an equally successful event in 2026, we are seeking financial support from local businesses and organizations. Contributions will help cover essential costs including guest speakers and performers, marketing and promotional materials, staging, PA systems, security and creative heritage displays.

All sponsors will be acknowledged in our promotional materials and recognized as official supporters of the Windrush 2026 celebrations.
