Volunteers Needed – Remembrance Parade

We are looking for volunteers to help us marshal the Remembrance Parade this year.

The licences have been granted for the parade, but it cannot go ahead without 12 marshals.

If you are able to help either before or after the church service, or both, we would love to hear from you.

A full briefing, including the route and requirements, will be provided before the parade.

This will be an evening to remember, reflect and come together.

Through music, performance and personal stories, we will honour those who have served, remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and recognise the families and communities who continue to carry their legacy.

Whether you have served yourself, have a family connection to the Armed Forces, or simply want to come together with others to mark Remembrance, you are warmly invited.

Below are the timings for this years Remembrance Sunday.
Sunday 8th November:
08.55 All participants of the parade are to meet outside The Royal British Legion (The Drouthy Laird)
09.05 Parade forms up
09.10 Parade marches off
09.45 St. Andrews Church Service
10.45 War Memorial Service
11.00 2 Minute Silence Observed
As always this event is open to everyone and we would love to see as much of the community there as possible.

We are also looking for stewards to help us marshal the parade. This can either be before or after the church service or both if you are able.

Poppyscotland
yearly campaign is almost upon us and we cannot do what we do without you!
Our poppy team are holding a briefing on Thursday 8th October @ 20.00 at the Drouthy Laird.
If you are able to help at all during the campaign please come and see us or reach out. An hour of your time can make such a difference to a great cause!

We have been overwhelmed with the support so far for our poppy decorations. Thank you to everyone that has started already.
QuirkyCooarts has been busy at it today and also has a range of poppy crafts available to buy with money going to Poppyscotland for each item. Thank you!

Thank you to everyone that has said they can help with this project. We are looking to get together on Thursday 17th September at 19.00 in the Victoria suite at The Drouthy Laird. This is just a quick catch up to see how we can properly move the project forward. If anyone is able to join us that would be great. If you can’t through we would still love you to help. We will be keeping everyone up to date on here! ****

We're looking for local groups and individuals to help us decorate several locations for our Remembrance day parade.

We would like your help in making knitted or crochet poppies or any other creative decorations to brighten the outside of the building and show our community spirit.

If you know a local children's group, knitting or crochet groups, community groups or anyone that might like to get involved please get in touch.

Let's work together to create a beautiful display of remembrance that the whole community can be proud of.

🎺 THE SOUND OF REMEMBRANCE

There are some sounds that stay with us.

The sound of a lone piper.
The unmistakable beat of a drum.
The powerful music of a military band.

This November, those sounds will fill the iconic Usher Hall in Edinburgh as we come together for Scotland’s first Festival of Remembrance.

We’re honoured to welcome:

The Band of His Majesty’s Royal Marines Scotland
The Band of the Royal Regiment of Scotland
The Royal Air Force Central Scotland Pipes and Drums

Alongside live performances from Amy Hawthorn and Scottish Young Artist of the Year, Ben Walker, the evening will bring together music, film and song in a moving tribute to those who have served.

Our Legion Bus Tour is this Saturday, and the response has been fantastic – thank you to everyone who has booked! 🚌

We have had to bring the departure time forward to 1:00pm, so please make sure you're there in plenty of time.

The good news is that Fraserburgh Legion will be providing soup and sandwiches when we arrive, so there's no need for a big lunch before setting off.

We've also upgraded to a larger bus because of the demand, which means we have a few spaces still available! If you'd like to join us for a great afternoon visiting fellow Legion clubs, send us a message on Facebook or email [email protected] to book your seat.

We look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday! 😊

We are absolutely overwhelmed by the incredible support from our local community during last year’s Poppy Appeal in aid of Poppyscotland.

Thanks to your generosity, kindness, and unwavering support, we raised an amazing amount that will go directly towards supporting our veterans and their families across Scotland.

We would also like to give a very special thank you to all our wonderful volunteers, as well as the dedicated members of the The Boys’ Brigade and the Air Training Corps. Your time, commitment, and enthusiasm embody the true spirit of remembrance and community.

Together, we have shown what can be achieved when a community comes together for such an important cause. Thank you for helping us honour and support those who have served.
