🎉 Celebrating 10 years of service! 🎉

Hannah Anderson had the pleasure of presenting Claire Gerrie with her 10 Year Service Award dyring a brownies meeting ! 🏅💙

Claire is an absolutely awesome leader and such an asset to Pitcaple Brownies. She’s brilliant with the girls — she always takes the time to listen to them, tells it like it is, and knows exactly how to make the programme fun and engaging. She has a real knack for coming up with great ideas and is fantastic at all things crafty! ✂️🎨✨

The Brownies couldn’t believe that Claire had been doing this for 10 years, neither could Claire! They love her enthusiasm, creativity and the fun she brings to every meeting. We’re so lucky to have had her sharing all of that with us all in Bennachie for the last 10 years.

Congratulations, Claire, and a huge thank you for everything you do for Brownies! 💕👏

👻 Halloween competition 🎃

This October we’d love to see your units creative sides in our Halloween competition.

The challenge this year is to design a spooky Halloween scene which includes an item of Guiding uniform (past or present).

Your creation can be drawn, painted, modelled, crafted, digitally designed (no AI though please), or created in any other imaginative way. From haunted campsites and ghostly guide meetings to pumpkin filled walks, let your imaginations run wild.

Entries can be from individuals, groups, units or even districts. Either post them here, send the comms team a message or email them to us.

We can’t wait to see what you come up with, happy crafting!

Today is International Day of the Girl and at Girlguiding we know that by
empowering girls to lead the way, they develop higher wellbeing, more confidence,
and an increase in social strengths (Girlguiding impact report 2026).
This week we have been taking part in Wee Act, Big Impact, the
youth community action project.

Girls from 1st Newburgh Guides chose to give
back to their local community through completing a food bank collection for North Aberdeenshire Foodbank and the Guides were also busy creating posters to share amongst the community, containing messages about being a good citizen.

Girls make a huge difference in their community, and girls involved in Girlguiding are
36% more likely to have helped improve their local area (Girlguiding impact report
2023).

This week 3rd Ellon Rainbows took part in Girlguiding Scotland youth community action project, Wee Act, Big Impact! 🌈
Alongside almost 4000 members across Scotland, we are helping to make a difference in our community.
Wee Act, Big Impact is ’s youth community action project
encouraging girls to plan and take part in activities to improve their local areas.
From visiting care homes and collecting food for foodbanks, to hosting charity
coffee mornings and volunteering at charity shops, each wee act has made a big
impact 💙

1st Alford Rangers were delighted to present Hannah Seath with the first Rangers gold award presented since the unit reopened last year. Well done Hannah, who has also been a member of 1st Insch Rangers, where she completed a lot of the programme.
