AFC signed and framed shirt lucky numbers fundraiser in aid of Fyvie Guide House which was donated by Sonomatic.

Congratulations to Thelma Smith who had number 58,she has won the AFC signed shirt. The fundraiser was drawn on Monday night using an online random number generator by a member of Newburgh Guides in Gordon. An amazing £300 was raised and will support the ongoing work at Fyvie Guide House. Thank you to everyone who entered the competition in Banff and Buchan and Gordon.

From taking girls on epic adventures to accounts, compliance and recruitment you do it all! This Volunteers’ Week we are taking the opportunity to share the impact our volunteers make.

82% of girls in Scotland say that being a part of Girlguiding has improved their wellbeing and 88% feel that the volunteers in their unit make them feel like they matter.

Girlguiding Gordon are extremely sad to announce the passing of a well respected and involved vice-president. Susan Hogg, suddenly and unexpectedly passed away on the 28th with family by her side.

Marty Donaldson, County President has written a lovely piece giving a glimpse into what Susan has done and how many people will remember her.

We’re celebrating Volunteers’ Week

Today, alongside we are
putting a spotlight on our fantastic volunteers. Across
Scotland there are 9000 volunteers giving 40,000 girls amazing experiences.
Girlguiding Scotland members are 42% more likely to improve their local area, and 29% more likely to have given time to a charity.

In Gordon County we’ve got 380 volunteers making a difference in their local area!

We are back! Girlguiding Gordon social media has taken a break, but we are back and raring to go with lots of plans upcoming!

Here’s a snapshot into what we have all been up to in the last year, covering activities with Rainbows shadowdancing, toasting marshmallows, to Brownies, Guides and Rangers receiving awards and camp permits. Trips and weekends away, silent discos and peer education sessions. Also including the adventures that the Trefoil Guild got up to visiting Pitmedden Gardens. There’s been a bit of everything, what a busy year everyone has had, but what a lot of fun 😊

None of these adventures and achievements could have been possible without the dedication and time contributed by each of our amazing members. Stay tuned next week to see more about the amazing people that make these all possible 💙
