This sounds like a fun thing to do in the October holidays in ⤵️

🍂Looking for a wee activity with the kids this October Holiday?

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🇫🇷 To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of our twinning link, we have organised a free town trail for school-age children during the holidays.

👀 Whilst walking around Inverurie town centre keep your eyes peeled for the letters displayed in some of the town's shops and businesses..

🎁 Once you've found all of the letters and solved the anagram, you could be in with a chance to win one of two Love Local Gift Cards.

📝 You can print off the entry form here, or simply write your details and answers on a piece of paper and drop off to either:

The Kilted Frog Delicatessen 8 West High Street
OR
Strachans Inverurie 11 West High Street

🗒️ Remember to list all 17 businesses with their correct letter, as well as the anagram answer, and return your entry before the 26th October.

Winners will be announced on this page.

Bonne Chance and Good Luck!

Fantastic news for Inverurie!

We're delighted to see that has been shortlisted for Scotland's Town of the Year 2026 as part of the Scotland Loves Local Awards. The shortlist recognises towns that are making a real difference through local action, partnership working and community pride. Inverurie joins fellow finalists East Kilbride, Falkirk, Fort William and Kirkwall.

This recognition reflects the efforts of so many people across our town - community groups, volunteers, businesses, schools, organisations and residents - all working together to make Inverurie an even better place to live, work and visit.

Congratulations to everyone who plays a part in making Inverurie such a vibrant and welcoming community.

The winner will be announced in October.

We're incredibly proud of the events we put on every year—from the Christmas Switch-on Fireworks and Reindeer Parade to Taste of Garioch, the Pipe Band Championships, Ladies Days and the In-Tune Festival.

But the reality of running a charity completely powered by volunteers is that as these events grow, our current team is stretched. The scale and turnout for our annual events are growing massively, which is fantastic for the town, but it means we genuinely need a larger pool of local folk to call on for help.

We aren't asking for a massive commitment. Right now, we are just looking for people who are willing to be on our contact list.

ℹ️ www.events.weareinverurie.co.uk/volunteers

How it works:

Joining the list just means you're open to receiving our volunteer requests.

When an event is coming up, we'll get in touch with the details.

If you can spare a couple of hours to help out, brilliant. If you’re busy, there is absolutely no pressure or obligation to say yes.

We will always provide full information, guidance, and support on the day, so you’ll never be left wondering what to do.

Our community events simply cannot happen without local backing. If you are willing to have your name added to our volunteer list so we can reach out ahead of the next event, please drop fill in: www.events.weareinverurie.co.uk/volunteers

Please also give this post a share to help us spread the word.

Thank you.
