Highland Foodbank

Highland Foodbank We provide food for those in crisis in the Highlands. We are a referral based service, please contact us if you need help getting a referral.

We operate under New Start Highland and are part of the Trussell network. In the last financial year 5,434 people in the Highlands have been fed through our foodbanks. Every day people in the Highlands are struggling to put food on the table. Reasons range from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income. We provide a minimum of three days emergency food and support to local people

in crisis. Our foodbanks are dependent upon your generosity, whether donating food items or giving financially. We could not reach so many local people in crisis without your support and encouragement.

A heartfelt thank you to our friends at Balfour Beatty for their generous donation to the Highland Foodbank. We are incredibly grateful for the support of businesses and community partners like yourselves — we simply couldn’t do this work without you.

A huge thank you to our friends at Balfour Beatty for their generous donation to the Highland Foodbank. This contribution was made through Balfour Beatty’s supply chain partner, Lyreco UK & Ireland, whose commitment to supporting local causes is helping make a real difference in communities across the Highlands. The donation comes at a crucial time, as demand for food support continues to rise. Every year, we provide more than 5,000 emergency food parcels to individuals and families facing hardship, and support like this helps ensure we can continue to be there when people need us most. We simply couldn’t do this without the generosity of businesses and community partners. If you or the organisation where you work, is interested in becoming a corporate partner and helping us tackle food poverty across the Highlands, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re looking for friendly volunteers to help at our centres in Inverness, Alness, Dingwall and Nairn. Just a couple of hours a week can make a real difference. Full training is provided — all you need is a caring attitude and a listening ear.

We would love to hear from you if you think you have some time to spare!

Our Highland Foodbank gives out over 5,000 emergency parcels every year to families across the Highlands. We can’t do this alone. Would you like to join our friendly crew of volunteers to help at one of our centres across Inverness, Alness, Dingwall and Nairn?

Please get in touch if so. We don’t need much of your time, just a couple of hours a week. A desire to help those who need support, a listening ear and the love of a good cup of tea are all pre-requisites. Training is given on the job.
