People imagine the Abbey as some kind of black mass fantasy — nonsense.
Crowley was trying to live his religion. Not preach it. Not explain it away.
These paintings were not decoration. They were acts. Magical acts.
Time, the Church, the weather - they've all had their turn at destroying them.
But they're still alive.
You can feel it.
Crowley always said the work would survive him.
He was right."
