At Gateway, we are committed to delivering compassionate, person-centred support for individuals with learning disabilities. Our goal is to empower the people we support to live independent, fulfilling lives and to promote their overall wellbeing. The Role:
We are seeking a caring, patient, and dedicated Support Worker to join our Outreach team in Inverness on a full-time or part time basis. This role involves supporting adults living in their own accommodations. You will play a key role in helping individuals achieve their goals, build life skills, and engage with their community.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality, person-centred support to individuals with mild learning disabilities
• Assist with daily living tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, and household activities
• Support individuals in participating in community activities and developing social networks
• Promote independence and confidence through the development of life skills
• Work collaboratively with families, professionals, and colleagues to create and follow individual support plans
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to safeguarding procedures
About You
• Previous experience is desirable but not essential; full training is provided
• Compassionate, empathetic, and patient approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexible, reliable, and committed to high standards of care
• Confident in using Microsoft Word and SharePoint
• A full, clean driving licence is essential

Role of the Support Worker

Duties of the role may include assisting with personal care, bathing / showering, meal preparation, assistance to take medication safely and light domestic duties.

Experience & Requirements
• Although care experience is desirable, it is not essential as we offer a full induction training, mentoring and shadowing.
• You should have a positive attitude and have patience and good verbal and written communication skills.
• It's key that you align to our five company values.
• Driving Licence is essential due to various locations.

Gateway would like to give a huge thank you to all those that volunteered at the Highland Cross in June. A great day was had by all, very hot and tiring but lots of fun.
Gateway are very fortunate to receive funding from The Highland Cross to purchase a new minibus for the organisation, a much needed asset to help our clients get out and about.
