Reminder that the Fun Day for bereaved children aged 14 and under will be taking place at the Victoria Suite at Ross County Football Club tomorrow, 3rd Oct from 12pm until 3pm. 💜

Organised by D Gunn Funeral Directors, Dingwall and supported by Crocus Highland & Ross County FC, this free event offers children who have experienced a bereavement the chance to have some fun, enjoy activities and meet the Ross County players as well as getting free entry into the match at 3pm.

Has your child been through bereavement?

D Gunn Funeral Directors, Dingwall, with the generous support of Ross County Football Club, Crocus Highland have very thoughtfully put together a Children's Fun Day for children who have lost a loved one. The event will take place at the Victoria Suite,Ross County on Saturday 3rd October from 12noon. 🌻

Children are invited to come along for some fun with Fox Tales, crafting table, small disco, and of course meet some of the Ross County Team. Every child who attends will get free entry into the football game at 3pm.

There will be a host of exciting activities for everyone to enjoy, and a chance to remember those no longer with us. ❤️

This is a free event… there will be a raffle on the day in aid of Heather’s Heroes.

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Naturedays at Aigas for organising a fantastic visit for our group to visit Aigas Field Centre . 💜🥬

We had the best day taking part in lots of fun activities including pond dipping, bug hunting and den building, while learning all about the different wildlife that they found.

Spending time outdoors can allow young people opportunities to explore, build confidence and enjoy new experiences away from the everyday.

Being able to do this alongside peers who have faced loss themselves can create a real sense of connection, understanding and belonging.

Thank you again to everyone at Aigas! 👏

We had great fun at the third session of the summer gardening group with Ar Gàradh at the New Start Highland garden last week. We learned lots about growing tomatoes, identifying types of bees and how to care for the garden. 🐝🔍

Getting outdoors together gives young people the chance to connect, build confidence, try new things and feel understood by others who have been through similar experiences. It also offers a gentle space to share memories of their special person, helping young people feel supported and less alone in their grief.

We had another brilliant morning with Ar Gàradh at the New Start Highland garden.

Everyone got stuck in, helping to take care of the garden, and had lots of fun exploring and learning more about the plants, flowers, and wildlife. 🌼🌱

Spending time in nature gives space to explore, connect, and feel calm, and being alongside others who understand grief can make such a difference, helping to feel less alone and experience moments of joy together. ☀️

Last week, we continued our gardening workshops in partnership with Ar Gàradh, at the New Start Highland gardens. 🌳🌱

The group had a fantastic morning exploring the gardens, taking part in a scavenger and bug hunt, and got their hands dirty with some gardening activities. 🐞🦋

Nature reminds us that healing isn't linear. Some days are bright, some are stormy, but growth can still happen. Through meaningful connections, supportive communities, and spaces where feelings can be shared openly, young people can find strength and build confidence in growing around their grief, and with peers.

Grief changes us, but it doesn't define us.

What a fantastic day out! 🛥️💜

Children from our group recently enjoyed a trip along the Caledonian Canal with Caley Cruisers, before spending some time exploring the area and seeing the Highland Cows.

Many of the group even had the chance to take the helm and steer the boat, a new experience they absolutely cherished.

The trip with Caley Cruisers was more than just a journey across the water, it was a journey towards connection, confidence and unforgettable memories. Peer support working its magic when life can feel so heavy. 💖

Everyone was delighted to welcome back a very special visitor to our Craft and Chat group - Alfie the Therapet! 🐶💜

There were plenty of smiles as everyone enjoyed spending time with Alfie, giving him lots of fuss and cuddles, taking him for little walks, and simply enjoying his calming company.

A huge thank you once again to Canine Concern Scotland Trust for bringing Alfie along. We always love his visits and can't wait to see him again soon! 🐾
