2027 is only four months away, and the History Forum calendar is now on sale only at our monthly Illustrated Talks, and at Sweets for my Sweet in the Victorian Market. This year the calendar has 14 months — including Jan-Feb 2028, and as usual each year, we expect copies to go fast.

Next Wednesday's Illustrated Talk for the Inverness Local History Forum will be Norman Newton on decoding the memorials in the Old High church and graveyard. At the Trinity Life Hall on Huntly Street at 2.00pm.

A fascinating, and excellently researched, piece of history

From this Saturday (tomorrow), there will be an exhibition of 15 vintage portraits from the Andrew Paterson studio (1897-1980) inside The Old High Inverness. From well-known names (George Bernard Shaw, Neil Gunn) to local folk (with surnames including Tolmie, Mirtle, Cooper, MacEhern, Chisholm, Mackell, Mackintosh, Millar, Arnott, and Taylor). Free entry 11.00am to 3.00pm.

The Talk will follow our Annual General Meeting - which should not take long.

On sale at our last Illustrated Talk before the summer break (Wed 3rd June) but both copies available now and throughout the year at Sweets for my Sweet in the Victorian Market Arcade. They are the first two in a series of Short History titles and priced at £10 each.
