🫶Our quarter 3 Grant Round was dedicated to our friend and supporter Gus MacDonald and Inverness crazy golf.
Gus’ final Golfathon fundraising figure was just over £38,000! 🏆
This is massive & well over the goal of £20,000 Gus was aiming to achieve! This incredible amount will make a lasting difference to around 1,189 children! Ensuring that Gus’ hard work and kindness continues to help others for years to come. 🙌
The £38,000 raised is providing:
• Poverty Support for a family escaping domestic abuse, basic essentials including bedding and bedroom furniture.
• Mental Health and Wellbeing Counselling to help a teenager deal with to cope with trauma caused by past adverse childhood experience.
• A communication device for a 5-year-old with cerebral palsy.
• A specialised buggy to keep a 3-year-old with complex needs safe when out for fresh air.
• A specialised buggy to allow a 4-year-old with complex needs access to the outdoors.
• A Special Needs Stroller for a 7-year-old with complex additional needs who loves the outdoors and being in nature, allowing access to enjoy what he loves most.
• A sensory kit for Crown Primary School.
• Sensory equipment for a 3 year with complex needs.
• Outdoor learning and support for a child who struggles in the classroom environment at Glachbeg Farm on the Black Isle.
• Cooking equipment stations for a local community group who will be running food preparation classes to teach children basic life skills and giving the knowledge experience to combat food poverty.
• Support to allow a community group to run a series of festive activities and experiences to reach those who are most disadvantaged and ensure that no child is excluded because of financial hardship.
• Art Therapy Sessions for children who struggle in a classroom environment.
• Mobile Sensory room visits to several local schools benefiting youngsters with severe and complex Additional Support Needs.
• Specialised learning at Abriachan Forest School for a 9-year-old with global learning difficulties to enable easier mainstream classroom integration.
• Poverty support for a baby with additional support needs ensuring that they have a safe and protected cot to sleep in.
• Equipment to allow a child with additional support needs to enhance their cycling skills for self-regulation and enjoyment.
• Specialised learning at Abriachan Forest School for an 11-year-old with additional support needs to continue the improvement of their regulation and self-esteem.
• A specialised outdoor all terrain pushchair/buggy for a 14-year-old with very complex needs who loves the outdoors. Making a meaningful difference to comfort, dignity, and ability to enjoy the world beyond the home and classroom.
• Outdoor Equipment and space at The Bairns Hoose Inverness which supports children, victims and witnesses of abuse with recovery, support and justice in one child friendly setting.
• Equipment for an 11-year-old child carer allowing them to have a safe space of their own to escape, feel protected, reduce anxiety, and have access to a calm environment that supports emotional regulation and improves overall daily quality of life.

Now that the fundraising is over, the postponed date for the Golfathon will be announced in the new 2027 Crazygolf season which will allow everyone to run the event in the spirit it deserves….using it to celebrate the fundraising & unwavering effort Gus put in to raising such a massive figure! 🙌
