Livin' the Blues

Livin' the Blues Scotland's First Not-for-Profit Blues Dance Festival

Livin' the Blues will be celebrating it's 3rd year running in Inverness 2014 on May 1st-5th.

Every Year Livin' the Blues offers something very different! We're not just an amazing festival of Blues danceing, with top flight teachers, amazing socials and competitions! Oh no, we're an experience, a life affirming celebration of music, dance and community! Each year we travel to a new place and highlight the history, culture and businesses of that host town. In Aberdeen in 2012, we had our v

ery own Bagpiper and had demonstrations of Highland dancing and we showcased amazing venues like Elphinstone Hall! We also ran a Whisky Distillery tour and got a small bus load of people very, very drunk. In Glasgow in 2013, we danced in a Train Station, Glasgow University, the Oldest Pub in Glasgow, danced in the amazing WEST Brewery(!!!) and of course were serenaded by Glasgow's very own Opera singing Chippy! We taught you Scottish Country Dancing and we showed you that Glasgow is a rich, vibrant, diverse and beautiful city! In 2014, we're in the Jewel of the Highlands - Inverness! We have such amazing things planned for you, Edwardian Mansions... a monster... Oh yes!
