🚀 SCATA’s Community Transport Update – April 2026 🚀

So much happens in the background that we thought it might be nice going forward to share our successes and show you just what kind of impact we’re able to achieve each month.

Here is a snapshot of our achievements for April:

• 🚐 Number of Journeys: 63
• 👨‍👩‍👧 Passengers Transported: 154
• 🦸🏻‍♂️Volunteer Drivers: 10
• ⏱ Volunteer Hours: 79.5
• 🛣 Miles Covered: 1096
• 🛒Most Popular Journeys: Weekly shopping trips, medical appointments, social events & fitness classes.

None of this would be possible without our fantastic volunteer drivers who give up their valuable time each week to drive in all weathers and get our members to where they need to be! Without these superheroes, there would be no SCATA—so from the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU! 💟

B851 – Farr Forestry Cottages (between Farr School and Playpark) Temporary Traffic Lights and Road Closure

Road Closure Thursday 28th May between 9am and 3pm

Temporary Traffic Lights Wednesday 27th and Friday 29th May

Highland Council require to have a Road Closure on the B851 in Farr Village between Farr Primary School and Playpark to carry out essential carriageway resurfacing on Thursday 28th May between 9am and 3pm. Light vehicles diversion will be via the Brin/Dunlichity/Balnafoich Road with HGV’s diversion via the B-road network. The Tordarroch Road will be signed as local access only.

On Wednesday 27th and Friday 29th May they will have temporary traffic lights in operation to carry out preparation work and surfacing of accesses and the shared-use path. Appropriate arrangements will be put in place to manage pedestrians when works are being carried out.

It is expected that Service buses will be suspended during the Closure between 9am and 3pm and if emergency access is required this will be managed through the works by the contractor. School transport should be unaffected and waste collections are on Mondays so will be unaffected.

Highland Council Road Improvements - South Loch Ness.

B862 Calanour to Errogie - road closure

Motorists are advised that there will be part-time road closures of the B862 Calanour to Errogie road on Thursday 14 and Friday 15 May between the hours of 9am to 4pm each day.
The closures are to enable surfacing of the new widened carriageway and passing place providing further enhancements of the road with widening at the bend and better provision for traffic management.

An amnesty for school and service buses, other school transport and any refuse collections will be provided along with emergency access if required. Pedestrians and cyclists will be managed through the closure by the Council’s contractor.

All other traffic will be re-directed to diversion routes with HGV’s directed onto the B-road network and light vehicles using the local minor road diversion as used during previous works.
