A huge thanks to The Co op in Beauly* for their donation of snacks for our Halloween event at the Kirkhill Community Centre. This will go down a treat with guisers who stop by on the night.

*We haven't use the @ mention option, so as to keep this post within the Aird Community FB followers only. We will issue a more public thanks once the event has passed.

Kirkhill Community Centre, (part of the Aird Community Trust), is applying for funding to install a Changing Places Toilet at the Community Centre, which will be located in a purpose built pod at the front right of the entrance.

These CPT’s are for people to use who need the assistance of family or carers to use toilet and washroom facilities.

The funders have asked us to demonstrate community need and support. If you think this is a good idea and perhaps have a family member or friend who would use it, whether living in the village or when coming to visit, please get in touch so we can build a catalogue of evidence to support our application.

Thanks to those who have shared their views so far on the planned Halloween event at the Kirkhill Community Centre.

As the event is planned to be outside, at the front of the community centre, one thing we'd like to ask is your opinion on temporarily closing the car park on the night, likely between the hours of 5pm and 9pm. This would help keep attendees safe and additionally stop people travelling from outside the area just for the freebies. We would of course make exceptions for those who need disabled parking access.

We see the event as a 'hub' for those already out guising in the village on the night, but also want as many people as possible to enjoy Halloween, including those who might feel that guising isn't for them.

In addition, we'll have donation buckets out on the night with any proceeds collected going towards Aird Community Trust but also Sophie's Story, who are raising funds to create a local hospice for children in Inverness.

Well done! Great shout out for Kirkhill Monthly Market. Lots of lovely Xoko products and other local food. Last Friday of each month 10.30 - 12.30.
