Good Evening

Unfortunately, as only 1 person has kindly volunteered within the almost 2 week timeframe, there are insufficient office bearers for SOSA to continue.

The outgoing office bearers will look through what is required to be done tomorrow, and a further update will be provided then.

Just a wee reminder that we need people to come forward and take on the 3 office bearers needed to keep SOSA going. If no-one comes forward by 6pm on the 30th June the group will fold.

We had a fabulous time on our 2 day outdoor first aid course with thanks to Fraser Raitt from BASP. It was very enjoyable and informative and we learnt so much while making it fun. 😀
Thank you to all who attended and I'm glad to say we all passed and will receive our certificates very soon.

2-Day Outdoor First Aid Course

SOSA Member cost - now reduced to £10
Non SOSA but Local Residents (Stratherrick Community) cost - £75
Others - £125.59

Course times are 0900-1700 both days

You need to bring your lunch and suitable clothing for both indoors/ outdoors.

If anyone wants to join our 2-day Outdoor First Aid Course on 24/25th June at The Wildside Centre, Whitebridge please get in touch.
Runs from 0900-1700 both days, and costs £125.59 per person.

Covers your basic first aid requirements as well as focusing on how to manage outdoor emergency scenarios.

SOSA are organising a 2-Day Outdoor First Aid Course to be held at Wildside.
Whilst SOSA members will get the first places, we would like to open it up to the rest of the Community to see what the interest is like.
Dates are presently June 24th & 25th (Mon & Tue) and August 24th & 25th (Sat & Sun); 0900-1700 both days. Course covers the required Basic First Aid at Work requirements as well as being specific for various outdoor incidents that you may come across eg out walking, cycling, on the water.
Present cost for the 2-day course is (as long as we can get 10-12 participants) £137 (if only 10 participants) - £114.17 (if can get 12 participants).

Do you live in the Stratherrick - Gorthleck/ Foyers/ Whitebridge area?
If the answer is "Yes", and you want to potentially meet up with other local folk that are interested in outdoor activities (walking, cycling, kayaking, canoeing, archery, climbing etc.) then please get in touch and join the group.
You need to be 18 years old or older, and membership is £1/year.
You will need to attend at least 1 meeting/year and put forward ideas (including costs etc.) for any activities you think would be good as a group.
You can also try out some sports by yourself and claim back a set amount (must show a receipt, and any payment won't be until after the activity is completed).

Once completed the form should automatically be sent to [email protected] or alternatively it can also be printed out & posted to FAO: SOSA2019, The Wildside Centre, Whitebridge.
