🎉FRIDAY FUNDRAISER 🎉

This weeks Friday Fundraiser is the fabulous Catherine Skinner MacDonald who celebrated her 50th Birthday with a Neon Rave at Toulvaddie Distillery on Saturday 30th of May! 🎵

Instead of asking for presents, Catherine kindly asked her family and friends for donations to Maggie’s Highlands and they raised an incredible total of £1111.00

Thank you for your incredible support towards Maggie’s Highlands. Your generosity will help allow us to continue to support anyone affected by a cancer diagnosis from across the Scottish Highlands. 🧡

Men's Support Group in the Centre
Our Men's Support Group will be on Monday 8th June from 1-2pm. This group is for men who have had a cancer diagnosis and are at any stage of their treatment pathway, including the time after finishing or having ongoing treatment.

The group will run on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month and is a facilitated and friendly space to meet with others. If you think you'd like to come along then let us know by popping in, emailing [email protected] or calling 01463382900.

This week, 1 - 7 June, is volunteer week across the UK, so we've asked some of our volunteers why they volunteer and what Maggie's means to them.

Anne has been volunteering with us for 5 months.

"I feel that any difference, no matter how small, can make an impact upon our visitors in a positive way.
Maggie's to me means security and support to our visitors who either have cancer themselves or they are a relative or friend of someone who has cancer. This support carries on indefinitely in the form of classes , zoom calls, or just dropping into the centre."

Anne has volunteered at Maggie's for 6 years:

"I volunteer at Maggie's as I find it fulfilling and rewarding. Maggie's means to me such a caring and safe environment."

This week, 1 - 7 June, is volunteer week across the UK, so we've asked some of our volunteers why they volunteer and what Maggie's means to them.

Mary has volunteered at Maggie's for 10 years:

"Maggie’s Centre is a warm, non clinical haven where they provide emotional support to people dealing with cancer. I feel it is a privilege for me to be part of the team as a volunteer."

This week, 1 - 7 June, is volunteer week across the UK, so we've asked some of our volunteers why they volunteer and what Maggie's means to them.

This is what Ali, who started volunteering at Maggie's in November 2025 had to say:

"I worked in healthcare for over 20 years and after I stopped, I missed meeting new people on a daily basis. I wanted to volunteer on a more practical level so that I could meet and connect with people, and hopefully make a difference, even on a small level.

I've only been coming to Maggie's for a short time but I already feel a great sense that I belong. It's such a special welcoming warm place with fantastic staff and I feel so fortunate to be part of it."
