Advocacy Highland

Advocacy Highland We provide one-to-one independent advocacy for people aged 16+ across the Highland Council area.

The aim of Advocacy Highland is to provide free, confidential, independent advocacy support to individuals aged 16 and over across the Highlands. Advocacy is about speaking up for people who are not being heard and helping them express their views. Our support focuses on - but is not exclusive to โ€“ key priority groups, including those with mental ill health, dementia, learning disabilities, autist

ic spectrum disorder (ASD), and those who are frail and elderly, with due recognition of diverse and marginalized groups. We have also recently received funding to support those recovering from drug and alcohol issues. We help our advocacy partners to be listened to by other people and professionals, empower them to actively participate in their life decisions, and ensure that they have information on their rights and choices throughout the process.
