Sea Cadets Inverness

Sea Cadets Inverness Sea Cadets Inverness were founded in 1938, and adopted in 1942. That makes us over 80 years old And don't worry. If you want to bring a friend, that is fine.

Interested?

Message us or send an email for an invite to come along to the unit during a parade night. We will make you welcome and show you around the unit, meet the volunteers, and take part in the activities. If you want to join, there is a couple of forms that your parent or guardian will need to complete (to say that you are allowed to join), so bring them along as well. Alternatively, as l

ong as you are over 18, you can complete the forms yourself. At some time, every cadet has had to walk through the gate for the first time, not knowing much about what we do!

Excellent footage of the RBLS Youth Standard Bearing competition held recently in Edinburgh. Our very own POC Abi retained her title when she won for the 4th year in a row! Amazing! We are all very proud of you.

Well done to all who competed; it was an excellent standard throughout.

It’s been a busy time recently... and one of mixed emotions...

😀😀 We had an AWESOME Royal Naval Parade (RNP) inspection! We were delighted to welcome Commander Gary Farmer RD RN (Area Officer) and Lt Cdr (SCC) Hay RNR (District Officer). Our cadets, junior cadets, and volunteers represented the Unit with excellent dress and bearing and ever-present enthusiasm.

😢😢However, two of our senior cadets left us. POC Ali timed out in celebration of his 18th birthday, and LC Lewis has set sail on his adventures in the Royal Navy. We all wish you the very best for your future endeavours!

Our HUGE thanks to the Port of Inverness and the master and crew of Northern Lighthouse Board vessel, NLV Polestar, for a fascinating and informative visit recently.

Keep an eye out for the Northern Lighthouse Board apprenticeship scheme opening for this year!

The Northern Lighthouse Board (NLB) offers Deck Apprenticeships (Able Seafarer) and Engineering Apprenticeships in partnership with City of Glasgow College and Forth Valley College, respectively. These apprenticeships are designed for individuals looking to start a career in the maritime industry, working on lighthouse tenders or maintaining aids to navigation across Scotland and the Isle of Man.
