Hi Everyone CrossReach Dementia Ambassadors,

I hope you are all well. Just a quick reminder about our upcoming online sessions to discuss how we can support our dementia ambassadors across all our services. It would be great if we could have one to two people from each service join the meetings.

Please feel free to share and promote within your teams, I know that some ambassadors roles have changed so if you know of anyone who might be interested, they are more than welcome to come along for information without having to commit to becoming an ambassador. The sessions will be very informal!

Any questions please don't hesitate to get in touch, I look forward to meeting your online next week. If you don't already have the link for your session, let me know and I will send it on directly!

Many thanks,

Rachael

Hi CrossReach Dementia Ambassadors.

We have started a space on Microsoft teams for dementia ambassadors to share ideas and resources. It would be great if you could have a look and share any feedback. In the 'general' section you will find folders organised by theme.

The aim is that, together, we can continue to grow and develop this resource. All dementia ambassadors are able to add to it. You will need to access the Team via your CrossReach login.

If you, or any of your dementia ambassador colleagues, don't yet have access let me know, I am working through names and adding everyone.

The Dementia Ambassador programme has been running within CrossReach since 2012. We are aware that there have been some changes within teams since the ambassadors last met. In order to plan how best to support ambassadors, we are looking to hold regional online information and discussion sessions to hear what already works well and how we can continue to develop the programme. The sessions will be via Microsoft Teams:
East: Tuesday 31st October 2-3pm
West: Wednesday 1st November 2-3pm
North: Thursday 2nd November 2-3pm

Being an ambassador is a great opportunity to continue to develop knowledge and leadership skills. Here is a quick summary of what is involved and what the ambassadors can gain from taking on the role within your service:

A Dementia Ambassador should:
Be interested in continuing to develop their knowledge and skills in line with the Promoting Excellence framework.
Be willing to share information circulated by the Dementia Development Team and the SSSC within your service.
Contribute to raising awareness and improving dementia practice.
Signpost colleagues to resources, information and support.
Contribute to and represent your service at CrossReach Dementia Ambassador meetings.

In return, we ask that:
Dementia Ambassadors are given time each month to allow them to develop within this role and carry out initiatives within your service.
Time to contribute to Dementia Ambassador meetings.
Support to develop and gain confidence in this role.

These sessions are open to anyone who is already an ambassador as well as those interested in becoming one. The hope is to allow for informal discussion and sharing of ideas. Ideally, it would be great if we could have one or two representatives from each service. If any potential ambassadors would like an informal chat ahead of the sessions, please don’t hesitate to pass on my contact details: [email protected] or call on 07824605831.

Please send on nominations for your service by 10th October. Email invitations will be sent on directly. Similarly, if staff are unable to attend the meeting allocated for your region, please feel free to join one of the alternative dates.

We look forward to hearing from you! Rachael

Hi Everyone CrossReach Dementia Ambassadors,

I hope you are all well.

My name is Rachael McMurchy and I am one of the Dementia Development Coordinators. I have met some of you while visiting the homes and look forward to getting to know you all.

To kick this process off, it would be great if you could reply below to confirm you can access this page and are still a Dementia Ambassador.

Our plan is to arrange region meetings to find out how best to support the Dementia Ambassador programme and to make sure that it works for each of you. We are aware that some people have changed roles or have moved on since there was a meeting.

If you would like to get in touch directly, my email address is [email protected] or you can call me on 07824605831.

Many thanks,

Rachael
