We are just back from our second year at the in Fort William and what a weekend it was! Thank you so much to everyone who popped a long for a chat and bought some second hand outdoor kit.

Our Vinted and eBay shops are both back open so if you didn’t find something over the weekend then take a look online!

For the second time in the last few years, we're over the moon to have the ongoing support from the Scottish Children's Lottery Trust. No fuss, straightforward support direct to the grassroots - that's what they're all about and to be honest it is an absolute lifeline for us. This new grant will enable us to start up exciting new gorge walking activities later on this year - just need to get this snow cleared first!!! Thanks to all the players of the Scottish Children's Lottery, we're so grateful!

That’s a wrap on our 2025 programme! We rounded off the year with another Àban Mountaineering Club expedition. This time we headed to Fort William, where we hid from the rain on Saturday in and then explored the very full waterfalls in Glen Nevis and Foyers.

It was a brilliant way to finish the year and we can’t wait to get stuck back into things come January.

Please try to car share If driving. The hotel car park is free but has ANPR and you must register your plates at the main hotel reception.

There is limited on-street parking in front of the hotel and plenty of parking on Ness street Infirmary car park on the other side of the river (cross using the pedestrian bridge)

Àban would like to say a massive thank you to for donating £1000 to our charity and having the Àban Mountaineering Club along last Friday for a visit to HM Coastguard Search and Rescue Inverness. Our young mountaineers got a chance to sit in the SAR Helicopter, see how it worked, get tour of the hanger and ops room and see the SAR Helicopter from Stornoway take off after it was over doing a search.

Our Gold Dofe group were out in some beautiful autumn conditions last week for the practice expedition. The 14 young people spent three days walking in the Northern Cairngorms, while it was cloudy in the glens, they were treated to clear, blue skies on the summits.
