Smolt trapping this year is sponsored by the lovely folk at Duncan Scaffold Dingwall (as well as Highland Nature Restoration Fund!). Have just collected another length of scaffolding pole so hopefully improvements to smolt trap position can be made tomorrow!

The smolts are running, monitoring is a bit tricky in high flows but hoping warmer water temperatures over the weekend might see higher numbers in the trap. Thanks to Ian, Steve, Anne and Charlie who have helped out this week. We are currently in the process of flitting to the new office at Muir of Ord Village hall so hopefully that will be complete by the end of next week. Enjoy the sun! :)

Thanks to Jim especially, and Highland Nature Restoration Fund for providing us with some extra kit :)

Ladies' Day with Beauly Angling Club last Saturday: our SISI officer Trudi went along to learn a bit of casting and fly-tying, and talk about invasive species control in the Beauly catchment. A wonderful day had by all. The food was lovely, especially the homemade soup and bread pudding! The drizzle held off and everyone went home with their own fly, tied by their own hands. A huge thank you to the Club and everyone involved in making it such an amazing day 🥰🐟🎣
