Here is the best Good Friday headlines to end a particularily nutty Eigg week.....

We're BLOWN AWAY (well before the incoming storm forecasted!) by the support since our launch - thank you to all who've donated so far. This funding will help us put down roots - allowing our Tree Nursery to grow more trees year on year.

Now, we're looking raise £24,000 to grow the trunk.
This would enable us to fund a tree-nursery manager all year-round. We know many funders consider staff costs to be boring, but in reality they are the trunk of the tree - providing essential core support to the whole system. In our case, that means transitioning the tree nursery from 'a place where trees are grown' to a thriving social enterprise with numerous social, economic, and environmental benefits. We know an extra £10k is ambitious, but with your support through donating and sharing the word, we can grow a trunk so strong it'll rival the Sgurr of Eigg!

Celebrating local heroes!

The 🌱 Highland Biodiversity Conference 🌱showcased a range of inspirational work that’s been taking place across Highland region. From engaging schoolchildren with local habitats, to building a national record of rare seaweed species, there are countless individuals and organisations dedicating themselves to nature conservation.

It was great to host a stall and catch up with friends old and new.

Shoutout to HIEF grantee Rewilding Bac Dubh on their fantastic presentation on the peatland restoration work they’ve been doing.

Thank you to for organising such a great event.

The Natural Environment Bill was passed into law yesterday in the Scottish Parliament.

The Scottish Government will now be required to set legally binding targets for nature restoration.

But, will this landmark piece of policy translate to improvement on the ground? Will it restore the health of our ecosystems and recover our iconic native species?

We will all be watching closely.
