Highland Action For Little Ones - Halo

Highland Action For Little Ones - Halo We support children and families in need across the Highlands by providing essential items.

Halo is a children’s charity dedicated to supporting families in need in the Highlands of Scotland with the essential items. We support children aged 0-18 years and provide items such as clothing, toiletries, nappies, formula milk, baby equipment, and so much more. Our mission is to make sure every child has access to the basics they need to feel safe, warm, and cared for. Together, we’re helping children thrive and giving families a little peace of mind during difficult times.

We're so grateful for the ongoing support from the team at Omniscot Limited. As a local IT company, they've helped keep Halo connected behind the scenes, including providing phones for all three of our offices so our teams can stay connected and you can reach us when you need us the most!

As a small charity, support like this makes a real difference.

Thank you for being a massive part of the Halo team 💛

We were delighted to receive a donation of brand-new books from the teachers and students at Culloden Academy School.

Books play a special role in our care packages, and thanks to this generous donation, we'll be able to continue including a suitable book in every package.

A book can offer comfort, distraction, adventure and even a little hope during difficult times.

Thank you to everyone at Culloden Academy for your kindness 💛

We welcomed Emma back to the Halo office this week, where she presented us with the amazing funds she raised from taking on the London Marathon.

Thanks to all her hard work and the incredible generosity of everyone who supported her, Emma raised a phenomenal £6,500, smashing her original fundraising target of £5,000! 👏

We're thrilled that Emma has also offered to volunteer with Halo. She has become such a valued part of our community and is very much part of the Halo family now!

Thank you so much for choosing Halo Emma 💛

Our co-founders had the opportunity to speak on both BBC Radio Scotland and STV News following the release of the Director of Public Health Annual Report 2025 that highlights the devastating reality of child poverty across Scotland.

The figures are heartbreaking. Almost 13,000 children under the age of five in the Highlands are currently living in poverty, that’s 21.9% of children in our communities. And that number has barely changed since 2010.

Behind every statistic is a child. A child arriving at nursery without clean clothes. A teenager worrying about food at home. A parent skipping meals to make sure their little one eats first.

Every single day, we work alongside health visitors, schools, social workers, Women’s Aid, family nurse partnership and local services to support children across the Highlands.

The need across the Highlands continues to grow, and while yesterday’s interviews helped raise awareness, this alone is not enough.

To all of you who continue to support Halo, donating items, fundraising, volunteering or simply sharing our posts, thank you! You are helping us make sure children feel safe, warm, cared for and remembered during incredibly difficult times.

Every child deserves to thrive 💛

A BIG shoutout to Lee, an absolute Halo Hero!

Throughout April, Lee ran 5K every single day and raised an incredible amount for Halo. 30 days of showing up, pushing through and doing something amazing for families across the Highlands.

Lee is about to become a parent himself and was moved to take action after realising how many children are going without everyday essentials like nappies, clothes and even bedding. Those small things mean everything!

Lee, we’re blown away by your kindness and determination and we’re so grateful to have you in the Halo community 💛
