Another incredible fundraiser completed in memory of our Christopher 🍪

🌈 Christopher was a real petrol head, so this challenge feels especially close to our hearts. 🚗

Based in Dunfermline, this amazing supporter, Brian Maguire, long with friends and customers, took part in a “Banger Run” purchasing cars for under £500 before setting off on an epic journey from Central Scotland to the Isle of Skye, through the Highlands, Inverness and all the way back home.

When choosing a charity to support, they told us they immediately felt a connection after learning that “Cookie” shared the same love of cars and motoring that brought all of them together on this adventure.

We are so grateful that they chose to support our charity and help keep Christopher’s memory alive in such a meaningful and fitting way.

A huge congratulations to Taylor for completing the 🏃🏼‍♂️Edinburgh Marathon in incredibly tough conditions on Sunday! 🏅☀️

Despite the heat and a foot issue along the way, Taylor pushed through and crossed the finish line in an amazing 4 hours and 14 minutes — an incredible achievement and testament to his determination.

🌈 Taylor attended school with our son Christopher, whose memory the Cookie Jar Foundation was set up in. 🌈𝗔 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗨𝘀 🍪

We are absolutely delighted to share that we have placed our very first vein finder into a GP surgery!

Last Wednesday , we officially handed over a vein finder (our 37th) to Inverkeithing Medical Group. Although the presentation took place at their Dalgety Bay branch, the device will be based in Inverkeithing at the main surgery, where it will be available for patients who struggle with blood tests and needle procedures.

Our ethos has always been simple: where the money is raised is where the money is spent. So it feels incredibly special to see funds raised by Dalgety Bay Business Network Group now supporting patients at our local doctor’s surgery — the very practice our family has used for years.

Knowing this equipment will help make procedures a little easier and less stressful for patients means the world to us.

The staff from the Children & Young Persons Ward at the Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline, recently welcomed the winners of this year’s YPI Scotland from St Columba’s High School, Dunfermline, as they arrived to hand over a replacement Vein Sight supplied by Ideal Medical Solutions .

This marks our 36th Vein Finder donation 💚

The donation was made possible thanks to the girls’ incredible hard work in choosing our charity, raising awareness, and ultimately winning the £3,000 YPI Scotland prize for us.

We would also like to give special thanks to Marco Ho — one of Christopher’s school friends — who is currently facing his own battle with cancer. Marco’s friends organised a fundraiser to support him through his treatment, and in an incredibly selfless gesture, Marco chose to donate part of those funds towards this Vein Finder to help others.

Because of kindness like this, Christopher’s legacy continues to help young patients every single day. 🌈

We’re all delighted at 🍪 Cookie HQ and look forward accompanying you when you hand over a vein finder to your local hospital.

Such a hard call today for the judges in the St Columba’s High School YPI final in Dunfermline today.

After lots of deliberation it was decided the team representing The Cookie Jar Foundation hit all the success criteria and were awarded worthy winners, well done team.

We are hosting a horse race night to raise funds to provide vein finders into local hospital wards. We would love for you to come along and join in the fun and laughter of the evening, why not get a group of friends and family to come along as we have tables of 10 available for larger groups.
