Woodside 2's Group

A group for children aged from 22 months and their carers, led by a play leader. Tue, Wed & Thur 10-11.30am Children can start from 22 months.

We are a friendly, welcoming group for children aged 2-3 and their parent/carer. We are led by a fully qualified primary school teacher and aim to develop children’s confidence, imagination and curiosity through our weekly themes and activities. We are the perfect stepping stone before your child begins their nursery journey. Sessions run on a Tuesday or Wednesday from 10.00 - 11.30 at Inchmarlo H

all. Each week follows a different theme and features a craft, messy play, sensory play, story time and songs. Please email [email protected] to request a place. We are a registered charity - SC003699 Woodside Playgroup.

Ahoy there landlubbers! 🏴‍☠️ what a fantastic time we had being Pirates this week! ☠️🏝️

We searched for buried treasure in the sand 🏝 explored our precious jewels 💎 sailed our pirate ships through choppy seas 🌊 walked the plank 🐊 made super pirate parrots 🦜 read the story ‘10 Little Pirates’ 📖 and had lots of fun with the parachute singing sea shanties! ⚓️🫧🎵

Next week get ready to meet Peppa 🐷Thomas 🚂 Postman Pat 📮 Paw Patrol 🐾 and many more friends as we explore ‘Our Favourite Characters’ 🌈✨

What a super week we’ve had exploring life ‘Under the Sea’ 🐟⚓️🐙🐳🧜🏻‍♀️

We became deep sea divers 🤿 splashed with magical mermaids 🧜🏻‍♀️ created sea creatures 🦑 fixed broken submarines ⚒️ made jiggling jellyfish 🎨 snipped seaweed ✂️ explored shells and gems in the sensory trays 🐚 popped bubbles 🫧 and enjoyed everyone’s favourite song…🦈🎶

Next week prepare to sail the seas, hunt for treasure and maybe even walk the plank as we become swashbuckling pirates! 🏴‍☠️🏝️

We’ve had a great week at 2’s Group exploring our ‘On the Beach’ theme 🐚🦀🐠

We built sandcastles 🪣 went fishing 🎣 enjoyed the sensory shell tray 🐚 sailed boats in the water ⚓️ used our fine motor skills to thread beads onto the octopus 🐙 served yummy treats in our beach cafe 🍦and made a super starfish craft ⭐️

I can’t wait to see you all again next week when we’ll be diving deep ‘Under the Sea’ 🧜🏻‍♀️🦞🐬

We would like to say a huge ✨ THANK YOU ✨ to Lynsay Wilson Photography for giving up her time over the past couple of weekends to run our family photoshoot fundraiser ❤️ Lynsay always manages to capture such natural and beautiful shots and I can’t wait to hear how you all got on 🥰📸

We had great fun this week exploring the wonderful world of toys! 🧸🪀🧩🚗

We enjoyed buying and selling lots of toys in our very own toy shop 🛒 we looked after the teddy bears in the Teddy Bear’s Hospital 🐻 we developed our gross motor skills on the climbing frame and ride on toys 🛴 we used our fine motor skills to complete the puzzles 🧩 we played with the dolls house 🏡 car garage 🚙 babies 👶🏼 and made super pictures with the paint sticks 🫟 we explored old toys, new toys, electronic toys and wooden toys… what a busy week we’ve had! 🌟

I look forward to seeing you all again next week where we’ll be having lots of fun ‘On the Beach’ 🌊🐚🦀

We’ve had a great week at 2’s Group learning all about shapes and colours 🌈⭐️

We made super shape pictures 🖌 served up delicious rainbow fruit smoothies in our smoothie bar 🍓 sorted vehicles by colour 🚖 enjoyed the rainbow sensory trays 🌈 did some fantastic shape problem-solving puzzles 🧩 and enjoyed a colourful story and fun with the rainbow scarves 🌈📙

I can’t wait to see you all again next week when we’ll be exploring ‘The Wonderful of World of Toys’…. 🧸⚽️🚘

We had an awesome time at 2’s Group this week exploring life in the jungle! 🦁🐘🐍🐯🦏

We became explorers on the hunt for jungle animals 🐾 splashed with frogs and snakes in the water tray 🐸 prowled with tigers in the sensory tray 🐅 made play doh jungle animals 🦒 went on safari with the small world animals 🦛 made super sticker pictures 🦁 and enjoyed some jungle songs and rhymes! 🐒

I can’t wait to see you all again next week where we’ll be learning all about shapes and colours 🌈⭐️

“In the light of the moon, a little egg lay in a leaf…” 🌝

We’ve had a lovely week exploring the story of ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ 🐛

We made super caterpillar pictures 🐛 did great food colour matching and sorting 🍓used our fine motor skills to thread cheerio pipe cleaner caterpillars 👌🏻 served up yummy ice cream, cherry pie, Swiss cheese and cupcakes at our ‘Hungry Caterpillar Cafe’ 🧁 enjoyed the puzzles and the sensory trays 🧩 and learned some new rhymes and action songs 🦋

I can’t wait to see you all again next week when we’ll be going down into the jungle! 🐅🐒🦒

We were so excited to be back at 2’s group this week! 🌈💛

Our theme was ‘Traditional Tales’ 📖 and we had great fun making porridge for the 3 bears 🧸 planting magic beans and building beanstalks with cubes 🪾making play doh gingerbread men 👩🏼‍🍳 building a house for the three little pigs 🐷 and a bridge for the billy goats gruff 🐐 reading some of our favourite stories 📚 and planting cress seeds which we hope will grow as tall as a giant beanstalk! 🌱

A big welcome 👋🏻 and well done done to our new 2’s group boys and girls this week as well! 🌟

We can’t wait to see you all again next week when we’ll be exploring the story of ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ 🐛🍎

What a fun-filled final week we’ve had getting ready to celebrate Easter! 🐣🐰

We made super Easter crowns 👑 rode the Easter ‘Egg-Spress’ train 🚂 decorated our Easter tree 🌳 bought lots of yummy Easter treats at our Easter Chocolate Shop 🍫 had lots of fun scooping, pouring and exploring the Easter sensory trays 🥕 and had lots of laughs with our Easter egg filled parachute! 🌈

We hope you all have a fantastic Easter break and look forward to seeing you all again, and meeting our new families even we return in April 💛🐥
