Support for this would be amazing our volunteers across scouting regularly use personal holidays to be able to deliver experiences for all the young people in our organisations either to set up events, run camps over school holidays ect…
This would give us and so many more organisations who depend on people dedicating their time to running, more flexibility and time to run at our best.

Scouts, along with Sea Cadets, Girlguiding, and St John Ambulance, is calling on the UK government to give all employees 35 hours of paid volunteer leave each year!

We’ve sent a letter to Prime Minister Keir Starmer to explain why this is so important. This change would make it easier to:
• Support local charities, youth groups, and community projects
• Volunteer during lunch breaks, work hours, or special events
• Give back to great causes—without losing pay!

With 35 hours of paid volunteer leave, more people can step up and make a difference in their communities.

We’ve also launched a petition so you can have your say! Sign now and show your support. https://bit.ly/3ETxxJq .
