On Wednesday, some of our cadets and staff went to Eden Camp Museum for the day. It was a good insight into the history of the former Italian prisoner of war camp, which included a live tank display of an M4 Sherman.

Thank you to CI Jobling for organising the trip, it was a most enjoyable day!

Congratulations to Cdt Hopwood for completing his Bronze first aid this weekend. He had to learn a range of first aid such as: CPR, bandaging open wounds, treating shock and much more. He then had to use these skills in an assessment to pass the course which is no small task. Well done!

On Thursday, Sgt Smith was awarded his silver Duke of Edinburgh’s award.

To achieve this, Sgt Smith completed 6 months of volunteering at a local nursery, 6 months of cycling (for the physical section) and 3 months of playing in the squadron band (for the skill section).
On top of this he also completed a demanding 3 day expedition over the Yorkshire Moors.

DofE is by no means an easy feet, so well done Sgt Smith.

Sector 5 on the 85th anniversary parade.

A few highlights from today’s marching — sharp turns, steady pace, and strong teamwork on display throughout. Every step reflects the effort and discipline our cadets put in on parade nights and beyond.

Great to see Sector 5 and the whole of Central and East Yorkshire Wing representing the Air Cadets with pride.

This event wouldn’t have been possible without the staff and the behind the scenes organisation so a massive thank you to all. Another thank you to the cadets who showed up as well.

Today saw the whole of Central and East Yorkshire wing come together to celebrate the 85th anniversary of the RAFAC.

The day began with a meaningful church service at Ripon Cathedral, where we reflected on the history, dedication, and achievements of those who have come before us. Following the service, we marched through the city and formed up in Ripon Market Square, marking the occasion with a parade that showcased the pride, discipline, and teamwork of our cadets.

It was an honour to be part of such a significant milestone, representing our squadron and celebrating 85 years of commitment, service, and tradition.
