📢 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: The Seavington "Grand Canal" Project
The Parish Council is thrilled to finally unveil our most ambitious infrastructure project to date.

Following a very brief (and very quiet) consultation, we are proud to announce that Seavington is going coastal.

Starting this summer, we will begin the transformation of the main drainage ditches along Water Street into a fully navigable Venetian-style canal system.

Key Features of the Seavington Canal:

The "Seavington Gondola": A repurposed tractor trailer will provide hourly transport between the Millennium Hall and the Volunteer Inn.

Waterfront Dining: Local residents are encouraged to set up bistro tables in their driveways to enjoy the "seaside" breeze.

The "St. Mary’s Marina": A designated parking zone for paddleboards and inflatable swans.

🚧 Important Traffic Notice

Please note that New Road will be flooded to a depth of 1.5 meters to accommodate the new ferry service. Residents are advised to trade in their hatchbacks for narrowboats by June.

Council Statement:
"We’ve heard the complaints about the floods after a heavy rain. We’ve decided that instead of fixing the drainage, we’re just going to call it a 'Tourist Attraction' and charge for parking."

We’re thrilled to announce that the Seavington Playing Fields Association will once again be hosting our much-loved Christmas Market at the Seavington Millennium Hall! 🌟
📅 Date: Sunday, 23rd November 2025
🕝 Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM (Set-up from 12:00 PM)
📍 Venue: Seavington Millennium Hall
We're now inviting crafters, makers, and local businesses to book a stall for this festive event. It's always a popular day in the village calendar, so don’t miss your chance to be part of it!
