Please can the Trustees remind everyone hiring the hall to remember to return it clean and tidy after use and ready for the next person.

Equipment used in the kitchen should be washed up and put back in the cupboards/drawers it comes out off. Those with their own equipment already have locked cupboards for this and the same applies that it should be washed up and put away after use.

There are tea towels and dishcloths available in the kitchen and these should be left in kitchen after use as the cleaner removes these for washing.

The electrical equipment in the kitchen such as the Urn, Kettles and Oven should be cleaned, left empty and unplugged.

The radiators in the hall should NOT be switched off at the master switch on the wall as they are remotely controlled and this causes problems with the remote control. Controls on the radiators themselves can be controlled to turn temperature up or down only

All rubbish should be removed from the hall following use. This should ideally be taken by users off the premises for disposal and not left in the bins outside the hall (These are for the use of the cleaner only).

The tetra bin recycling box is for the use of the community in Slade and should only have tetra boxes/packs left in it, it is NOT for general cardboard or Paper recycling. Any cardboard or paper should be removed from the site by the users generating it.

On leaving the hall please ensure that it is left as you would want to find it, shut all doors, set the alarm and lock front door.

Thank you for your co-operation.

Ilfracombe Town Council has expressed deep concern over the planned changes to the library services in our town and would urge as many of you as possible to have YOUR say on these changes.

Not only does your opinion really does matter in helping to shape the future of Devon Library Services, but Devon County Council’s current consulation will directly effect Ilfracombe Library.

Please take 5 minutes to have your say. You can complete the survey by visiting:
https://devonlibraries.commonplace.is/en-GB/ by 22nd February 2026 or fill out a paper copy at Ilfracombe Library.

It’s a valuable part of people’s lives within the town and more than just books.

The details of the letter that we have sent to the DCC Cabinet Member for Rural Affairs and Broadband including Libraries can be found on the website.
