A reminder to everyone that our Remembrance Sunday Parade takes place today.

Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with the itinerary so everything runs smoothly as we come together to honour those who served and sacrificed. ❤️

Saturday 8th November 2025 10am-2pm - Ilfracombe RBL will be in Pedlars Of Ilfracombe for collection of Remembrance Wreaths and all things Poppy!❤️

In the meantime, pop into their store to grab your badges, poppies, bracelets and even a plant or two🪴🎄

Remembering VJ Day – 80 Years On

A short service to remember VJ Day will be held as follows:

📅 Friday 15th August
⏲️ 10:45am for 11:00am
📍 Ilfracombe War Memorial

All are welcome

📺For those that are unable to attend the service in Ilfracombe, the national service will be broadcast live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 11:30am, live from the National Memorial Arboretum paying tribute to all those who served in the Far East and the Pacific.

VE DAY 80th Anniversary🔴🔵⚪️

Ilfracombe Royal British Legion attended the commemoration at the Clapping Circle, followed by observing a 2 minute silence at 12 o'clock at the War Memorial.

On Thursday this week (8th May), we will gather to celebrate end of the Second World War in Europe.

80 years ago it was a time of hope which sprang out of the sadness of loss for those who had sacrificed their lives for the cause of peace, justice and love,

We will gather to remember, to give thanks and to look forward in hope to a better world for all people, where all people may live in peace.

Everyone is most welcome to come along and take part.

Thank you to everyone who turned up yesterday, to make it a very special Remembrance Sunday ❤️ 100 years of Ilfracombe War Memorial.

Thank you to Ilfracombe Town Council for organising the Road Closure and the Marshals.
Holy Trinity Church for the wonderful service.
The Wellington Arms, Ilfracombe for hosting us, and putting on an amazing spread afterwards.
Sweet Williams Flowers for hosting Hannah and Charlotte to ensure organisations were able to collect their Wreaths.
Ilfracombe Sea Cadets T/S Capstone for fundraising in Ilfracombe on Saturday.
Tesco Ilfracombe and all our local fundraisers who have dedicated their time.
All of the organisations and people of Ilfracombe who attended.

There are many people we need to thank for yesterday, whether it be those in the forefront or those working incredibly hard behind the scenes.

'When you go home, tell them of us and say, for your tomorrow, we gave our today'.
