1.
(5)

Permanently closed.

Raising funds for the six churches of the Hyde and Denton Methodist Church through the sale of different types of donated goods.

2. Delivering professional Retail Training to volunteers, and those completing a work experience placement from Job Centre Plus. The shop provides a platform for all who wish to gain new skills and experience through volunteering in the shop. We are pleased to welcome a

pplicants from any of the towns local organisations such as Social Services, Job Centre Plus, and Duke of Edinburgh Award. As the shop occupies three floors, it is necessary to be able to negotiate our stairs. The shop is both run and administered entirely by volunteers from the 6 Methodist churches, and the local community. Including managers. The Helping Hand has seen many job seekers from both the Job Centre Plus organisation and volunteers from the shop, successfully find employment and progress onto a quality apprenticeship scheme following their period of training. The Helping Hand shop sells a vast range of goods donated by the community on behalf of the six Methodist Churches of Hyde and Denton. In its efforts to help the community the prices are kept as low as possible, with prices as low as 30p for many items, and there are plenty of choices for the gift and fashion conscious. Also books, DVD's, CD'S, Vinyls & Videos. The Helping Hand is grateful for any donations of clothing, gifts, small electrical appliances, toys and books. However, due to the limitation of space on the premises, we are unable to accept large items of furniture at this time. If you have any questions regarding any items you would like to donate, please do not hesitate to contact us. If you would like to volunteer and/or take advantage of one of our training schemes, please contact us or visit the shop for more information on how to do so. You can also seek advice from our onsite Pastoral service, administered by Tom Luke, our resident Church Deacon. A list of current and future Church events can be found in our shop. The Helping Hand would like to extend our thanks and well wishes to everyone who has and continues to support the Churches and the work that it carries out for people in our local communities. Thank you for your invaluable support,
