5th Hyde Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers together form 5th Hyde Scout Group.

Bringing adventure to boys and girls in Hyde, Godley, Newton, Gee Cross and across Tameside. Scouts are do-ers and give-it-a-go-ers. Yes, we go camping, hiking, abseiling, cycling and canoeing. But we also get to hang out with our friends every week – having fun, playing games, working in a team and taking on new challenges.

It's our birthday, Scouts! 🎉 🥳 ✨

119 years since the very first experimental Scout camp pitched up on Brownsea Island, Dorset.

We’re so proud of everything our volunteers have done since then to give young people a place to belong. Thank you to you all! 🙌

Congratulations to all 5 of our leaders who celebrated their King’s Scout Award at Windsor Castle this weekend ⚜️💜

On Sunday 26th of April, Chief Scout Dwayne Fields had the honour of congratulating Amanda and Thomas Charlton from Dukinfield at a special event held at Windsor Castle.

The Chief Scout was in Windsor congratulating the young awardees for achieving the King’s Scout Award – the highest recognition in Scouting for adventure and skill development.

Set against the historic backdrop of the Castle’s Quadrangle, the occasion brought together Scouts, families and supporters to mark an extraordinary milestone in the lives of these remarkable young people.

We have just launched our JustGiving page to help Rachel and Mason get to the World Scout Jamboree next year.

All donations welcome.

We are raising funds to allow 2 of our explorers to attend the 26th World Scout Jamboree in Poland in Summer 2027. They will have the opportunity to meet around 40,000 scouts from all over the world and gain new skills for life.

Merry Christmas
