Home-Start Knowsley

Home-Start Knowsley Home-Start provides a unique service for families - recruiting and training volunteers to support parents with young children at home. Company no. 5197002

Home-Start Knowsley is a voluntary organisation offering support to local families who are facing difficulty and have at least one child under the age of eleven. How we can help
A trained volunteer offers friendship as well as practical and emotional support. This is done in the family home and enables the family to cope with the pressures they are facing, and can help to reduce any crises. Indiv

idual support by trained volunteers
Volunteers support families and their children in a way the family finds most useful. This could mean time to talk, help with the children, providing a break for parents, practical help, reassurance or even the chance to meet other families. Group Support

We have perinatal support groups, Bump and Baby throughout Knowsley, where you can meet other antenatal/postnatal mums, weigh your babies and find out information. Timetables can be found on our page or website. We offer Baby massage, Mum and Baby yoga, Mindful Mummies and introducing solid foods. Time for me- A mindfulness course for adults only, each session is different. Previous sessions have included aromatherapy, crafts, macrame, planting, baking, cooking, hypnotherapy. Jigsaw Families- activity days for families with children with complex needs during the holidays. Jigsaw Tots- Parent and toddler group for children with complex needs during term time. Parent/Carer & Toddler group- weekly term time group for parents and children 0-4. Craft activities, play, read and rhyme. Jigsaw coffee mornings- support group for parents with children with complex needs. We run a Families Fit for Life programme three times a year which is an 8 week course to promote health and wellbeing. Occasionally we offer an 8 week Parenting Course, with a creche facility, for parents who want to explore and enhance their parenting skills. Home-Start Knowsley's charity no. 1107933.
