We are not part of the church but value it as an historic building and community resource. You have probably heard that after many years of hard work the church has secured a large grant towards the restoration and reordering project from The National Lottery Heritage Fund and this work has now begun. The Friends would like to express our thanks to everyone involved for giving
up many hours of the
ir time to achieve this for our village . This project addresses major and very necessary work on the stonework of the 600 year old tower and the reordering inside the church adapts it for the needs of the village in the 21st century as identified in the two village questionnaires. however of course there continues to be a need for ongoing general maintenance and repairs outside the scope of this project . It is the aim of The Friends to contribute towards these costs . We also aim to fund specific smaller projects as requested by the PCC for the preservation of this beautiful building in our village . An example of this was shown by the repair to the Reginald Wade window in 2020 which The Friends paid for. Although we stage some events and fundraising efforts a major part of our income comes from membership subscriptions . If you haven’t already joined , would you like to help us by becoming a member? Membership fee is £12 per person per year or £20 for two people living at the same address .
