A stitch in time!!

I found her sad and lonely in a charity shop.

Just around the time when I wanted to create a project around Visible mending.
(Mmm how convenient this Universe giving me what I needed)

I will show through a few post what I did with it, for those who don't follow me on instagram.

One of the “techniques” is a fabric patch and it we will practice together in the upcoming workshop I am doing at Orbs Bookshop Gallery.

Dawn was chatting to a lovely wee loon yesterday as he was on the scarecrow trail with his family and he thought that our new member of staff should have a name. Quite right too!
He chose her name so please give a wave to Yolanda at the bookshop.

Happy Tattie Hols everyone!
Our new staff member has been looking out the windie to make sure you’re all doing the Huntly Scarecrow Festival trail.
Maps are available from the Gordon Rural Action hub on Monday until 2pm, but the rest of the week it’s from the Gordon Rural Action charity shop.
Support a great cause and have some family fun in the process.

Maps can be bought for £2 (cash only) from our offices today from now until 2pm (today only)
Back at the charity shop tomorrow 10-5 ⭐️⭐️

We’re loving seeing all the folk walking about town ticking off the scarecrows! Don’t forget that you’ll need to get down to the GRA charity shop to buy your maps!
That’s the only place you can get them! Huge thanks to the Gordon Rural Action team for all the work they’ve done pulling this together.

The lovely Lesley is ready in the Gordon Rural Action charity shop to sell you maps all day ❤️
Remember we are closed Sunday and Monday so grab your maps now or wait till Tuesday.
some scarecrows were blown about a bit in the night but should all be back in order now 🙈

Happy Independent Bookshop Day! What do we have going on for this blustery Saturday? This morning we have the north_east_scotland_swifts group in the gallery room chatting about the long journey our avian aviators are making.
You can pick up more of the Squirrel Trail entry forms to have a go while you’re wandering around town.
We have a new member of staff hanging out in one of our windows for the Huntly Scarecrow Festival and (of course) we have our usual amazing range of affordable books for all ages and all interests.
Support your community bookshop and you’ll be supporting your community too. The more you spend in the bookshop the more we can give back to community. Last year we gave back almost £8000 - can you help us top that this year?

By popular demand we’ve extended the closing date of our Squirrel Trail. Folk wanted it to last through the tattie hols so it now closes on Oct 23rd.
Another lovely trail to keep you walking about the town!
Drop in and pick up a free trail form, solve the clues to find the squirrels, and return it filled out to be entered in the draw for a fantastic prize.
