Set in fourteen acres of quaint farmland bordering the Scottish Highlands, the Mohanji Centre of Benevolence in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, is an idyllic abode of peace, rejuvenation and transformation. Though the land itself reverberates with tremendous purity and stillness, the transformative power of the Centre especially radiates from the newly constructed Shirdi Sai Baba Temple, the Lord Dattatr

eya Temple and Garden, and the main Shrine and adjoining Sadhana Room that are situated within the main house.

Days 2 & 3 | 15th–16th June

Days 2 and 3 brought something really special. 🌸
Sulakhe Maharaj, Chief Priest of Shirdi, joined us and led the most beautiful aratis. We all sang together and it felt like the whole room lifted. 🎶🙏

Day 3, the anniversary morning, began with a powerful Homa as the sun came up. 🔥 Followed by Mohanji joining us for a satsang that grounded everything. He reminded us of what this space means, of Baba being here in Aberdeen, and of us all being part of something that is still being written.

What followed was Baba’s abhishekam. We each got to go up, touch Baba, and give him a bath with our own hands. Then we watched him get adorned, looking more radiant than ever. 🪷

The rest of the day was lunch, laughter, and a quiet kind of happiness. The kind you feel when you know you’ve been in the right place at the right time. 😊🌼

Day 1 | 14th June

Day 1 of our three-day anniversary celebration, and Baba made it beautiful from the start. 🌸

We began with arati, followed by a lovely lunch prepared by Mrs. Leela - made with so much care and offered to Baba first. Everything about it felt like a blessing. 🍱

The highlight of the day was the Palkhi - Baba adorned and radiant, carried in procession as we sang together. Simple, devotional, and full of joy. 🪔

The road to MCB Scotland has never been the easiest - built way back in the 1800s and shaped (or rather, shaken) by years of Scottish weather. After the last winter, it got noticeably worse… cars felt it, and so did visitors.

So we thought - how hard can it be? Let’s just fix it ourselves.

Turns out… not exactly easy.

Between unpredictable weather, a lot of trial and error, and zero professional experience, we gave it a solid go. No big claims, just effort and teamwork.

6 hours. 6 volunteers. A few hundred potholes. And a surprising rhythm by the end of it.

We didn’t finish everything, BUT we made a start.

And as Mohanji says ‘Progress over perfection.’

Spring has arrived at MCB Scotland 🌱

Yesterday was one of those days you just want to bottle up. The buds were out, the sun was shining, and we got our hands in the soil for the first day of our permaculture journey together.

Were mistakes made? Absolutely. Did we learn? Even more so. That is kind of the whole point.

Here is to more days like this - sun, soil, community, and a few happy accidents along the way 🌸

A beautiful spring Wellbeing Day at the Mohanji Centre of Benevolence in Scotland, hosted in collaboration with The Vinery☀️🌿

Set in the warmth and brightness of a glorious spring day, the theme of the gathering was reconnecting with both outer nature and inner nature, guided by a simple truth from our tradition: nature and life are the greatest teachers of all.

The day began with warm welcomes, tea, refreshments, and time to settle into the peaceful space of the MCB. We then explored the deeper learnings of the five elements and reflected on what nature can teach us about life, balance, and ourselves.

Guests spent time outdoors connecting with the land and contemplating three things they would like to invite more of into their lives, and three things they were ready to let go of.

After the noon temple ceremonies, which everyone joined, we shared a tasty Indian meal together. The afternoon continued with an introduction to Mohanji, the deeper purpose of our platforms, and the core teaching of Be You — self-connection through self-acceptance and self-awareness.

A video discourse by Mohanji on the essentials of life brought powerful reflection to the group, especially around the importance of free will, and our ability to choose how we respond to life’s situations. This opened meaningful discussion and helped highlight the importance of moving forward leaving behind the baggage of guilt and regret.

The day then flowed into conscious walking, a dynamic meditation practice, the Doorway to Heaven meditation in the temple, and finally a fire ceremony where participants offered into the fire the things they wished to release.

It was a beautiful, heartfelt day, enjoyed by all, leaving a sense of lightness and calm.

With gratitude to Debbie from The Vinery for bringing such a lovely group to the centre. We look forward to welcoming everyone again soon. 🙏

We completed our first sessions of a new series of traditional yoga classes in Huntly this morning. It was a really lovely start to more outreach activities to give value to the community.

It was wonderful to welcome a mix of people from the community, all coming with openness and curiosity. Many shared how much they enjoyed the session and how different it felt from what they expected. It was especially encouraging to see that even young people under the stress of exams found it calming, grounding, and helpful.

For those who are new to it, Himalayan School of Traditional Yoga (HSTY) is a more traditional and accessible approach to yoga that brings attention to breath, awareness, balance, and inner stillness and not about performance or flexibility. In that sense, it is something that can be meaningful and applicable to anyone, regardless of age, background, or previous experience.

This session was brought to you by Mohanji Center of Benevolence (MCB) Scotland, a community space just a few blocks from Huntly, offering activities that support wellbeing and inner balance.

We’ve now completed our first session, and we would love to see more of you there next Monday and the Mondays after.

A big thank you to Square Deal for kindly giving us the space and helping make this possible.

Next session: Monday, 14 April
Time: 9:30–11:00 AM
Place: Square Deal, 22 The Square, Huntly, AB54 8BR

See you then 🙋🏻‍♀️

Today at MCB Scotland and Shirdi Sai Baba Temple, we came together to celebrate Ram Navami wby performing Ram Pooja, Raksha Pathan, bhajans and Aarti.

Ram Navami is not only a celebration of the birth of Lord Ram, but also a reminder of the values he represents: Truth, Dignity, Courage, Restraint and Righteousness.

Mohanji often reminds us that Ram is not just someone to worship, but a state to live, a life where our thoughts, words and actions are aligned, and where we remain steady and rooted in dharma whatever life brings.

It was beautiful to mark the day together in that spirit.

Grateful to everyone who joined and contributed to the sincerity and warmth of the celebration.

We talk a lot about “being yourself” but how often do we actually stop and check?

Am I being real right now? Or am I adjusting, fitting in, playing a role?

Most of the time, we don’t even notice it.

But even one day of just being fully yourself, without trying to become something else, can feel more real than years of compromise.

Maybe today is a good day to just pause for a second and come back to yourself. 🩵
