When should you start? What foods can you offer? What about baby-led weaning? And how do you know the difference between gagging and choking?

There's so much information out there, and it can feel a little overwhelming.

Our **First Bites** workshop is here to help you feel informed and confident as you prepare for this exciting next stage.

Led by Jo, our breastfeeding counsellor and infant feeding support worker, it's a friendly, practical session where you can learn, ask questions and get ready to explore food with your baby.

💛 Don’t just take our word for it… hear what our parents have to say!

Choosing an antenatal course is a big decision. You want to feel prepared for birth, confident about those early days with your baby, and hopefully meet some lovely local parents along the way.

But how do you know which course is right for you?

At Connected Parents, we’re really proud of the feedback we’ve received from families who’ve joined us.

Our five-week antenatal course in Ramsey is a little different.

We’re two sisters, but we’re also working birth and postnatal professionals. Between us, we support families through pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding and early parenthood every single week, and have done so for many years.

That means we’re not just teaching from a textbook. We’re sharing up-to-date, evidence-based information alongside the practical experience we gain from working with real families every day.

We cover birth preparation, hypnobirthing, breastfeeding, newborn care and those all-important first weeks. And we do it through relaxed conversations, hands-on activities and plenty of opportunities to ask questions.

No judgement. No pressure. Just really good preparation for becoming parents.

And because making friends is such an important part of antenatal classes, we’ve made sure the connections don’t end when the course does.

Our WhatsApp community and weekly New Parent Group mean you can continue seeing those familiar faces, sharing experiences and supporting one another long after your babies arrive. 🥰

We think antenatal education should be about so much more than simply getting through birth. It’s about feeling informed, supported and connected as you begin this next chapter.

One of the best things about antenatal classes is meeting other people who are about to become parents too.

People who understand what you're going through, who have the same questions and who might just become some of your closest friends.

At Connected Parents, we make plenty of time for those conversations. And when your babies arrive, you can carry on meeting through our Monday New Parent Group in Ramsey.

You can read all the pregnancy books in the world, but sometimes you just need to have a go! 💛

Our antenatal classes are full of practical activities, demonstrations and opportunities to explore things for yourself.

From birth positions and comfort measures to feeding preparation and caring for your newborn, we want you to leave feeling like you've actually practised some of the things we've talked about.

No awkward role play, no being put on the spot. Just relaxed, friendly learning with other expectant parents.

And yes, there's usually plenty of laughter along the way!

Our antenatal course includes specialist breastfeeding preparation led by Jo, a highly experienced breastfeeding counsellor and infant feeding support worker.

Jo works directly with families, helping them navigate everything from those very first feeds to the challenges that can crop up along the way.

And she brings all that experience into our classes.

We explore how breastfeeding works, what to expect, how partners can help and where to find support if things aren't going quite as you'd hoped.

No pressure, no judgement. Just practical information and support to help you make your own choices.

Having a baby? There’s so much more to antenatal preparation than you might think! 💛

We’re not just another faceless organisation, we’re real local people who don’t just teach antenatal classes. We’re also a birth and postnatal doula and a breastfeeding counsellor who work directly with families throughout pregnancy and those early weeks with a baby - actually attending births and visiting families at home in the early hours and days.

We bring all that real-life experience into our five-week course, with practical activities, honest conversations, hypnobirthing, feeding preparation and plenty of opportunities to ask questions.

And because we’re a small, local organisation, you’ll get to know us properly too.

Our next 5-week antenatal course in Ramsey starts on Thursday 5th November, and we’d love to welcome you!

We’ve recently moved our courses to the daytime, and there’s a very good reason for that!

We found that after a long day at work, expectant parents were arriving at our evening sessions absolutely exhausted. And when you’re preparing for something as important as the arrival of your baby, you deserve the time and energy to really enjoy it!

☀️ Five mornings, just for you and your baby.

Over the five weeks, we’ll explore:

🌿 Birth preparation and understanding your choices

🧘 Hypnobirthing and practical techniques for labour

💕 How birth partners can offer meaningful support

🤱 Breastfeeding preparation with a breastfeeding counsellor

👶 Newborn behaviour, postnatal recovery and life with your baby

And perhaps just as importantly, you’ll meet other local expectant parents, make connections and become part of our lovely Connected Parents community.

Did you know? Pregnant employees are entitled to reasonable paid time off for antenatal classes. And partners often find their employers are happy to offer flexible arrangements too. It’s always worth asking!

We’re a small, friendly, not-for-profit organisation run by two sisters who are passionate about helping families feel informed, confident and supported.
