We’re pleased to be attending the HiVIS event on next week on Friday 12th June, hosted by Huntingdonshire Society for the Blind and Huntingdon Library (Cambridgeshire Libraries)

With around 2 million people in the UK currently living with sight loss (and that number expected to rise) events like this are so important in helping people access the support, services, and community connections available to them.

We’ll be alongside a fantastic range of organisations including Guide Dogs UK, Deafblind UK and Blind Veterans UK all working together to support people with visual impairments.

If you’re attending, come and say hello - we’d love to chat and share how we’re working to make health and care services better for local people.

Can't get to the library but want to have your say? Take 5 minutes to complete our short survey: https://www.healthwatchcambridgeshire.co.uk/share-your-views-nhs-services

What happens when people share feedback with Healthwatch Cambridgeshire and Peterborough?

Every experience shared with us helps build a picture of how local health and social care services are working for people across our communities. We use feedback in a number of ways, including to:

• Identify recurring themes and emerging issues
• Highlight barriers people face when accessing care and support
• Share positive experiences and examples of good practice
• Influence local NHS and adult social care decision-makers
• Inform reports, recommendations and service reviews
• Shape engagement projects and listening work
• Raise awareness of issues affecting local communities
• Help services better understand the experiences of patients, carers and families

Whether feedback is positive, negative or mixed, it helps ensure the voices of local people are heard where decisions are being made.

You can share your experiences with us anonymously if you prefer, and every piece of feedback contributes to improving health and social care locally. Have your say: https://www.healthwatchcambridgeshire.co.uk/

The Government’s NHS Modernisation Bill has introduced proposals that could change how patient and public feedback is gathered across health and care services, including the future role of local Healthwatch.

While the Bill is still progressing through Parliament and no changes are currently being made locally, it has prompted important national discussion about how people’s voices are heard and acted on in the NHS and social care system.

At Healthwatch Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, we continue to focus on ensuring local experiences shape improvements in services across our area.
