Glebe House School

Glebe House School North West Norfolk's leading co-educational independent Nursery & Prep school. Celebrating 150 Years!

In many ways, what makes us special is precisely what makes us different from other schools. We are small which means each child is known and nurtured individually – but always inclusively – in every aspect of school life. We are located close to North Norfolk’s coastline and so getting outside, enjoying nature and learning about the environment is part of our children’s learning. We may have been

here since 1874, but our focus is on combining the best of contemporary education with traditional values.

YEAR 5 RESIDENTIAL TRIP TO DERBYSHIRE

Division V returned from their recent Humanities residential to Eyam with learning, memories and achievements that will stay with them for years to come.

Over the three days, the children brought their term's History learning to life through visits to Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and Eyam, while also challenging themselves with climbing and abseiling at Burbage Edge.

Most inspiring of all was the resilience, teamwork and encouragement they showed one another throughout the trip. The whole experience was a wonderful reflection of the spirit of Glebe House School.

YEAR 2 GEOGRAPHY TRIP

Taking learning beyond the classroom is something we really value at Glebe House School, and we feel incredibly fortunate to have opportunities like Watatunga Wildlife Reserve right on our doorstep.

As part of their Geography topic on Kenya, Division II enjoyed their very own safari experience with Mrs Maud, spotting bongos, buffalo, wildebeest, great bustards and even the elusive sitatunga from the safari truck, binoculars in hand. They also met Bentley the Eurasian Crane, who kept everyone entertained by chasing the guide around!

One of the highlights of the day was getting hands-on with real animal skins, antlers and horns, helping the children understand the differences between deer and antelope in a way no textbook quite can.

An incredible day out for all the children who couldn't wait to get home and share their experience with their families!

It's the term when Forest School becomes Beach School!

We are so grateful to have this fabulous coastal classroom within walking distance of school. As you can see, our Division VI class were very happy to have dodged the showers when they spent Tuesday morning engaging with their natural environment.

We are incredibly grateful to Gresham's School for hosting our Year 6 and 7 pupils for an inspiring STEAM day in the Dyson Building this week.

From building circuits and taking on laser challenges to designing wind-powered cars and launching rockets, the children embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm, creativity and teamwork.

Experiences like this are a wonderful reflection of the extended opportunities available to our pupils and a real highlight of senior life at Glebe House.

A fantastic day enjoyed by all – thank you again to Gresham's School for making it possible.
