The goat herd has been moved to Mount Todden. They are kept in their grazing areas using NoFence collar technology rather than physical fencing. This means the goats know their grazing boundaries, but you may not!

We have placed signs along the paths around the goats grazing area to let you know that it's time to put dogs on leads, and prepare for an encounter with our goat herd. It's important these signs stay in place so everyone is informed and the goats can be kept safe. Please do not remove or relocate these signs.

Our goats are core members of our land management team, they work hard alongside our rangers to manage scrub and gorse keep our islands looking beautiful.

You go Gull ๐Ÿฆ ๐Ÿ’…

Lesser Black-backed Gulls are the smallest of the main three Gulls on Scilly, and they're sadly following the same declining trends as their bigger cousins. Our yearly surveys of Annet tell the story of a population struggling on the edge to survive, with only 4 pairs recorded on the island last year.

With a significant number of the European population of Lesser Black-backed Gulls found in the Southwest of England, Scilly has the chance once again to be a safe haven for this declining species.

It's the moment you've been waiting for - we have trail camera footage of some of the first chicks of the season! We're thrilled to see that the nest cages have been a success on their first trial season.

Remember - it's more important than ever to keep your dogs on leads on nesting beaches, and give these birds plenty of space. ๐Ÿ•โ€๐Ÿฆบ ๐Ÿ’š
