The apples are coming early on Scilly this year, due to the warm and very dry season.

We have done a first pick of apples at the Trenoweth Community Orchard, with good yields of eaters. These have mostly now been turned in to juice, plus a bit heading for cider. Many thanks to St Martin's Vineyard for help with the juicing, bottling and pasteurising.

We'll put something out before the next big pick, hopefully early to mid September. It should be a bumper year!

15 years ago today the Trenoweth Community Orchard was planted by a group of community members and school children.

Look at it now, and it's looking mature and producing upwards of half a ton of fruit a year! It'll keep on growing for decades to come, all things being equal.

It's open to the public at any time. In particular go and enjoy the spring blossom, which should be at its best in late April/early May.
