💚💚 SHREK - AUDITION DEADLINE 💚💚

Following our earlier post, we have had such a phenomenal response that we are having to close the auditions for our lead roles at 6pm tomorrow (Monday 15th June). If you are unable to audition, please ensure you let us know as this may make an audition space available for someone else and we will be accepting video submissions from those unable to attend on the day.

We will still be able to offer ensemble and smaller role places within our workshop for those over the age of 16 but we have very few individual places available.

We have also made the decision to hold the Young Shrek and Young Fiona auditions on a date to be confirmed and will be in contact with all those who have registered interest in these roles.

💚💚 AUDITION UPDATE - SHREK THE MUSICAL 💚💚

Due to an incredible and overwhelming amount of interest in our spectacular 2027 show, Shrek the Musical, we are having to open up another day of auditions on Saturday 4th July.

Anyone who auditions on the Saturday will still be required to attend the ensemble audition on Sunday morning.

Anyone who has already submitted their audition form for Sunday 5th July and would prefer to have an audition on Saturday 4th July, please get in touch and let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.

💚💚 SHREK - AUDITION ANNOUNCEMENT💚💚

We are very excited to announce our auditions for our recently revealed, spectacular 2027 production of Shrek the Musical. As our production team for this show we welcome back our resident Director/Producer Neil Broadbent and Keira Watson as Musical Director. Our Choreographers for this production are Louisa LeFevre, in her second show with us after We Will Rock You, and we are excited to announce that we are welcoming back Becky Widdop to join her.

Auditions will be held on Sunday 5th of July at Move@HD1 at St John’s Road, HD1 5AY near Huddersfield town centre.

Everyone will be expected to attend an ensemble audition which will include singing and choreography.

In addition, if you are interested in one of our lead roles, you will be expected to attend an individual audition.

If you are new to the company, you should also be prepared to attend a short individual audition.

Included in this post is a full list of characters in the link below, please complete and choose as many as you are interested in. Please be aware, we will only be accepting auditions for Young Shrek and Young Fiona for those under the age of 16.

Rehearsals will start at the end of October, we rehearse on Monday and Thursday evenings at the Jubilee Centre in Paddock from 7pm - 9pm. Sunday afternoon rehearsals at Move@HD1 will be introduced in January 2027 up until show week.

Show week will be week commencing 28th March 2027 until the 3rd April 2027.

Our show week this year falls within the first week of the Easter holidays, therefore to make it more accessible for everyone including families with young children, our evening show times will be earlier than usual and we will be performing 3 matinees on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. This means you must be able to commit to all performances to be a part of the show.

Please be assured that the audition panel want you to do your best and Woodhouse Musical Theatre Company prides ourselves on our friendly, open and fun ethos, where you will be treated with respect and guaranteed a safe environment.

Once we have received your application you will be sent the audition material along with your audition timeslot via email.

Woodhouse Musical Theatre Company is thrilled to announce our next production... SHREK THE MUSICAL.

Details of Alan Warmby's funeral:

Sue, Cara and Mark would like to thank everyone for their kind messages, cards and flowers. The many happy memories you have shared with us have shown how loved he was and how greatly he will be missed. They have brought a smile to our faces at this difficult time.

Alan's funeral will be on Friday 8th May, 1.15pm at Huddersfield Crematorium HD2 2JF. Followed by a celebration at The Lawrence Batley Theatre HD1 2SP from 2.30pm.

Colourful clothing is preferable (Bright stripey socks optional) Family flowers only
