Christians United Through Expression & Sound (CUTES) was founded by local christian, Susan Wilson, born from a desire to bring local churches together in unity to promote the gospel through music, dance, poetry etc. incorporated into a family fun day. The group first met in January 2015 and the project planning began to design and deliver the first event. Cutes is a non-profitable group and consists of members from different churches/community.
CUTES in partnership with Oasis Care and KLTV have come together to organise this event, the aim of this event “Windrush Generation Cultural Family Day” is not only to build bridges between the community, faith groups and generational gaps. The day will also look at ways of improving health & wellbeing and safety in our community, whilst telling the story of the transition from the West Indies to England and more to educate the next generations to come.
A journey of Faith
The film's stars speak about their faith, and how it guided them from a young age, through the trials and tribulations of growing up, to crossing the ocean and arriving in the UK, to where it has brought them today, in the grace of God.
The film is available to watch in full on YouTube using the link below, and is also available across our other social channels.

Hi Susan
I'm trying to send you the recording that I made of the event, via what's app - hopefully it will be delivered soon.
My lasting impression is that there is an appetite to do something positive and constructive.
- a church and community alliance, with the Churches providing active leadership (something that could be strengthened?) as well as support - giving people the confidence to be courageous.
An approach that recognises and builds on the assets within our community too. Not listening to the police and the council when they tell us they know what's best for our young people and our community - but doing what we know will work and work well first time.
Hope this helps, and we would be happy to support you and CUTES bringing something together as a follow-up.
Kind regards
Community Leader
Good Morning Susan
Thanks for your email which is acknowledged and noted and congratulations to the CUTES organisation for holding the recent Windrush Generation Walk of Faith Event.
The discussion raised and also the Watchnight theme 'Time for Change' points to many challenging issues affecting our community where the Church can indeed make a positive impact.
I am open to discussions with all local black led church leaders and working together towards providing tangible solutions for the needs of our community.
With every blessing
Community Pastor
Hiya Susan, my main take away from the event was the church has a role to play in communities regardless of the faith of individuals. Could some of what is missing from communities be filled by the church?
Churches working together is a vital role model for communities...practice what we preach.
I hope you understand my words. I've got another cold so my brain is fuzzy😢
