GROUP HIGHLIGHT 5

🌿 Giving Back to Our Scout Community 💚

At 2nd Colne Valley Scouts, adventure isn’t just about what we do—it’s also about giving back.

Recently, our Scouts spent time at Bradley Woods Scout Campsite, carrying out service by helping to clear the footpaths around the site. Their hard work will make it easier and safer for the thousands of young people and volunteers who visit Bradley Woods throughout the year.

Service is an important part of Scouting. It teaches young people the value of teamwork, caring for their community, and taking pride in the places where we enjoy so many adventures.

A huge well done to everyone who gave up their time to make a real difference. 👏

👉 If you’d like your child to experience opportunities to learn new skills, make friends and give back to their community, we’d love to welcome them.

🦈 Cubs Sleepover at The Deep 🌊

Last year, our Cubs had an unforgettable sleepover at The Deep – and what an experience it was!

From watching sharks glide overhead to exploring the incredible aquariums after dark, the evening was packed with excitement and discovery. The Cubs learned all about marine life, ocean habitats, and the importance of protecting our seas – all while getting up close to some truly amazing creatures.

For some of our young people, this was their very first sleepover away from home, and they showed fantastic bravery and independence throughout the night.

Sleeping next to sharks is definitely not your average night!

👏 We’re so proud of how they supported each other, tried something new, and made memories that will last a lifetime.

They also learned about the country’s past through Vietnam War history, giving real insight into how the country has developed into what it is today.
